Star Of Hope

Good morning and a very happy Tuesday!

This is my 3rd project for the Lost Coast Designs Something Seasonal challenge, and I'm very sad to say that it is my last design team project. I've had a wonderful time here, but with a beautiful new granddaughter to visit, my craft room is going to be rather neglected!

I started by adding some ink to glossy card and spraying with water for a snowy effect.

Then I stamped the fabulous Cityscape and bleached out the colour from the background.
The Angel On The World has to be one of my favourite ever Lost Coast stamps. She's just been coloured with some Tim Holtz distress pens.

My lovely stamps

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Linda and the lovely ladies of the DT for having me for the past couple of years, and to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful 2023 xx

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

Good morning and a very happy Sunday, just seven more sleeps 'till Christmas!

This is my latest card for Relatively Thoughtful, and as I have the 12x12 version of the Reindeer Christmas collection I wanted to make a big statement card.

I've made a floating gatefold card before using a Paul Ford tutorial, but this was a 7x5 card. I thought it would be easy to size up, but I didn't take into account the size of my front panel, but I got there in the end, (just don't ask me about an envelope lol)

I love these little postcards with the reindeer, they are just perfect for the small side panels.

I've used lots of my older Tim Holtz dies too, together with a fair bit of paint spatter!
And sparkly sequins....
And pom-poms - did I mention the pom-poms!

This is such a versatile collection and can be found here in the store.

As always there is lots of new inspiration daily on our social pages.

If I don't see you before, have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, and thanks so much for looking xx

Happy Gnomey Christmas

Good morning and a very happy Friday! Can you believe we're halfway through December and hurtling toward Christmas at breakneck pace! If it isn't done by now.... you probably live in our house and there's still LOADS of time lol.

For my second card for the Lost Coast Designs Something Seasonal challenge I've used one of my favourite combos, kraft card, white ink, and coloured pencils.

I started with Brilliance ink and a leaf stencil. Then added a little bit of blue (not so delicately) around the edges.

A little bit of snowy spatter makes everything look better!
These are my lovely stamps, I've used my trusty

I hope you're having fun with your own Christmas preparations, and that you join in with our challenge.
Take care and have a very happy weekend x

Happy First Christmas!

Good morning and a very happy Tuesday! This is my second project for the Country View Crafts Christmas challenge.

As you may know my first Grandchild was born 7 weeks early in October. I am very happy to say that she is now safely home, and if she's anything like her grandma, is looking forward to Christmas!

This is the photo card that I made for her.

Those of you with a very long memory may recognise these DCWV  12x12 paper pads.

The card itself is just under 8x8 so just right for larger photos.
The flaps are 6.25 x 4.25 so there is room for 8 6x4 photos.
I can't wait to see her over the Christmas period. I'll be taking far more photos than any album will ever hold lol.

I can't guarantee that Susan will have any 20 year old paper pads, but all things Christmas can be found here in the store!

Take care and have a very happy week, and a very Merry Christmas xx

Christmas Wishes

Good morning and a very happy Sunday!

I've been playing with the beautiful Reindeer Christmas collection from Relatively Thoughtful.

The papers are such great quality, they take ink, embossing powder, and anything else that you care to throw at them lol.

And of course they die-cut perfectly.

With all these reindeer guiding the way I'm sure Santa's sleigh will find its way safely!

As always there is daily inspiration on the Relatively Thoughtful Facebook pages so please check them out.

The collection can be found here in Sally's store in either A4 papers or digital download.
Take care and have a very happy day whatever you are doing x

A Holly Jolly Christmas

Good morning and a very happy Tuesday!

This is my first project for the Something Seasonal challenge over at Lost Coast Designs.

I've had this stencil since last Christmas, and now it's finally come out of the packet!

As I have rather a lot of cards to make (and I've not really started yet) I needed something that I can batch make but that still looks nice.

I coloured my coated card with Distress oxides, then stamped and cut out Georges and Louis. This is a simple shape to cut out and I like how the brown looks against the blues.

As you can tell, this stamp has been very well-loved lol.

I've just added some glitter to the red berries, and a Tim Holtz sticker.

I hope you join in with our challenge and link up your seasonal piece.

Take care and have a very happy December xx

Happy 1st Christmas!

Good morning and a very happy Sunday!

As you may know, my beautiful granddaughter was born seven weeks early in October (she actually isn't due until this Thursday!) Thankfully she is now safely home, and I got my very first cuddle last week! Of course, this will be her very first Christmas, and I shall be taking lots of photos, so I have altered a frame to keep my favourite one in.

I've used papers from the Relatively Thoughtful Magic of Childhood and Reindeer Christmas collections, and I think they work beautifully together.

I started by taking my plain white photo box and applying black construction tape around all the edges. This now means that I don't need to paint them, and it's a nice surface to stick my papers to.

The front pieces have been carefully measured, the corners mitered, and all the edges inked.

Even with the careful preparation, it's always nice to see that they fit lol.

I've tried to use non-directional patterns as at this stage I don't know if I'll be putting a portrait or a landscape photograph inside.

This is the backing board that the photo will sit on. It's just under 7x5 so I can trim a little bit off a 7x5 photo. You know what I just said about non-directional.... Doh!! Never mind, as these collections are both available as digital downloads I can just print another sheet and use the other side if I go with portrait - it will be the poshest back to a frame ever!

The gorgeous rocking horse is part of a cut-apart sheet in the Magic of Childhood collection. I've heat-embossed it with sparkly powder - well it is Christmas!

It's really hard to show the sparkle in a photograph, but it is there. The embossing powder also adds strength to the card.

This is how it looks in landscape.

And we are going to pretend that the reindeer aren't standing on their heads for the portrait shot! I promise that no reindeer were harmed in the making of this frame 😂😂.

These fabulous collections can be found here in the store.

And there is always new inspiration daily on our Facebook page and group.

Have a lovely day whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking xx

The Magic Of Christmas

Good morning and a very happy Thursday, welcome to December - the most wonderful time of the year!!

It's time for our annual Christmas challenge over at Country View Crafts, and for my first card, I've followed a Tracy Evans tutorial. I can 100% recommend these, Tracy has such a relaxed teaching style and makes anything seem possible.
I went a little bit wrong with my background and ended up making the stamp jump, BUT it will be perfect as a background for my background????? Well I know what I mean lol.

A little bit of matting and layering with these beautiful AALL & Create stamps.

And sparkle, lots of lovely sparkle!
Do you see that tiny blackbird? I would never have thought to add anything there, but Tracy's projects are full of the little details that make all the difference.

Please join in with our fun challenge and show us your Christmas makes, and I'll be back later in the month with my second project.
Take care and have a very happy December xx
