The Music Of The Night

Just a very quick post from me today as real life has got in the way again. Sorry I've been AWOL since my holidays but family always comes first. This piece just about sums up my mood at the moment lol.

All mediums are by Decoart, the stencils are Andy Skinner's, and the stamps are all by Stampendous.
I'm entering this into the That's Crafty birds of a feather,
and also Dream in Darkness  and Love To Create anything goes challenges.
Have a great weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Pretty Woman

I'm really enjoying playing with my Dylusion paints and stamps at the moment, and instead of getting ready for my holiday next week (which I really should be doing) I've been painting my nails - and fingers - and that bit up your arm when you put it down on wet paint...  Anyway this what I made.

Think I would quite like to be this lady, she has a certain style!
She's been coloured with pencils. I took far more care with her make up than I do my own lol.
I've made her for the Girls Will Be Girls challenge at That's Crafty, and also the anything goes challenge at We Love 2 Create.
Enjoy your Sunday, and thanks very much for looking xx

Don't Worry 'Bout A Thing

The challenge this time at PaperArtsy is to use pigment powders, so I've been having a play with my Brusho's.
I've used yellow, red, and ultramarine (which is my favourite) just sprinkled on and spritzed to make my backgrounds.

I then used the powders as watercolours to paint Darcy's images. They paint really nicely but you just seem to get one colour rather than the mix that you sometimes get with the shake and spritz method.
The feathers have been painted with turquoise and ultramarine.
I've joined the tags with washi tape so they form a triangle and stand up by themselves.
The Brusho's layer and mix beautifully, and is a great base for a white pen.
I had fun making these (except for the cutting out lol) and will definitely use the Brusho's for more than just backgrounds now.
I'm also linking this to the We love 2 Create anything goes challenge.
Going to watch the England Wales match now, so enjoy your weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

California Dreaming

Hi, hope you are enjoying your Sunday. Neil is channel hopping between the rugby world cup, football, and F1 so I've escaped to my craft room. I've been having another play with my gelli plate, Deco Art paints, and stencils.

I've used paints from the DecoArts Media range, and various leaf stencils and masks. I've also used Portfollio pastels in the corner.
This is black then a layer of quin gold/quin magenta/quin red/ yellow oxide.
Stamped and cut out. The leaf stamp is by Stampotique (of course) Some of them have had English Red Oxide antiquing cream rubbed over.
The words are typed on a new to me but old manual typewriter. I have to plink away with one finger 'cos I don't hit the keys hard enough with my others. I've got too used to a pc lol.
I'm entering this into the
That's Crafty lovely leaves  challenge,
We Love 2 Create anything goes,
and Craft Stamper take a stamp.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x

You Lookin' At Me....

Hi, and happy rainy Wednesday. Don't you just love the middle of Summer, it's the perfect chance to top up the rust! Today at Stampotique Kim has chosen the theme of  Anything Goes, so inspired (not) by all the rain, I've gone under the sea.

I started with a couple of colours of Deco Art Multi Surface Acrylic
and then added some stenciling with DA texture paste.

Next it was time for Marcel and Mansfield to make an appearance, along with the guys from the Starfish Cube.
Stampotique guys aren't remotely intimidated by mere barracudas!
Next came a layer of acetate, on which I stamped Seaweed and Birch Tree.
So that's another page in the book done. Only 2 left now to go!
I'm also entering this into the That's Crafty Under The Sea challenge, and We Love 2 Create anything mixed media.
Who can resist an anything goes challenge, I hope you all join in, and thanks very much for looking x
