Paint Your Own Reality

Good morning and a very happy Friday. I'm over at the Lost Coast Designs Portal To Creativity again today with my second Face On project, and this time I've used a beautiful Frida Kahlo stamp to make a page in my Lost Coast journal.

This was such a simple project, but sometimes they're the nicest aren't they? I simply stamped Frida onto some watercolour paper, coloured her in, and cut her out.

The background is 6x4 (so it fits into my album) and I've stamped the sentiment directly onto it.

Here she is next to the Sugar Skull lady from last Sunday.

And this is how she looked when I paper pieced her in another journal a while ago.

This is the wonderful Frida stamp that I used.

I've really enjoyed this challenge, and I know you will too so please join in and link up for the chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.

Thanks so much for looking, take care, and have a very happy weekend x

Adventure Awaits

Good morning and a very happy Thursday!  Today I'm back at Country View Crafts with my second project for our Monochromatic challenge.

This time I've made a card for my brother-in-law as he and my sister have a beloved camper van.

I started with a Brusho background in shades of blue, and added some stenciling with the AALL & Create world map and circle stencils. I then stamped the wonderful AALL camper stamp. I loved how it looked but didn't feel that the image stood out enough.

So I stamped it again on some thick vellum. I tore round the edges and embossed it in some ancient Moon Glow Two Tone embossing powder. Honestly I must have had this at least 15 years but it only comes out on special occasions lol. I also coloured some bits underneath with blue and white pencils to highlight them.

I wanted to highlight the turtle and van windows further so I added some Glossy Accents. Maybe not the best of ideas 'cos it really made the vellum warp (OK I did put rather a lot on) I attached this over the original card with brads through the wheels and it actually looks quite nice now - the warping seems to give it a bit of movement so we'll pretend that that was part of the plan!

Before I added the vellum I put back the two stencils and put through some Izink Ice just to make the design stand out a little more.

This is what I've used.

I hope you have a lovely day whatever you are doing, take care, and thanks so much for looking x

All Good Things Take Time

Good morning and a very happy Wednesday! Today I'm over at the Ink Art Designs Stamping Playground with my Art By Marlene accordion journal. "Oh no" I hear you say, "not that journal again" BUT... this time I've actually finished it! (ok half-finished it, but let me enjoy my moment)

I've used some of my favourite stamps on this one too. I love this elephant, and the mandala is one of my favourites of the clear stamp sets.

I was on the final four pages of my journal, so I decided to do them all. I started by stamping and colouring the mandala on the already prepared pages.
Then I stamped and coloured my elephant 3 times. I used my Zig Clean Colour pens as they are such bright colours.

I worked out where the elephant would go across the crease in the pages, and put a score line in the elephant. That way I could glue it on both sides, but not where the page needs to open and close.

Now there's a tiny bit of wriggle room so the elephant (hopefully) won't crack over time. And now for my 'Ta Da' moment....

Here it is, all done!

Ok, it's only half done, there's still the other side to do, but I have an idea for that already.

All of the stamps used are by Art By Marlene, and Dot has a fab range of everything Marlene here in the store  https://www.inkartdesigns.com/shop/

Have a lovely day whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

Goddess

Good morning and a very happy Sunday, I hope you're having a lovely weekend. It's time for a new challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity, and this time it's Face On (human face) Now I have lots of wonderful stamps with faces on so I spent the first couple of hours umming and ahhing over what stamps to use. I finally settled on this one.

I started by stamping Fourth Dimension a couple of times. I used a stamp platform to get them in just the right place, and I think I did pretty well 'cos my eyes are going funny!

I coloured some of my background in with posca pens to make it pop black, red, black, white, black, red, black....aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh, now my eyes are REALLY going funny... I stamped the Goddess stamp on my platform too so that I could get it in dual colours. Then I simply stuck it all together and added it to the album that I made here

These are the stamps that I've used.

Carmen's Veranda

Lost Coast
Mystery, Eternity, Hope, Goddess

Now it's over to you to join in with us! Please remember that we are a stamping challenge, so no digi images please.

Have a great Sunday, and thanks so much for looking x

There's A Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow

Good morning and a very happy Friday, the weekend starts now! The first challenge this month over at Lost Coast Designs is 'Neon' so sunglasses at the ready, here is my piece.

This was going to be such a simple project, but then I went down the 'what if ' rabbit hole....

I started with some neon stars from a local pound shop. I just glued them to my journal page and punched the holes back in.

Then I decided that as my main image was to be the new Dirigible I wanted a steampunky background, so I stamped some more stars, and also stamped and die cut some hexagons.

I stamped and coloured my images many times but still couldn't seem to get them right, so in the end, I just coloured some card with highlighter pens.

Then stamped and embossed in black. Perfect, just what I wanted, and I could have saved myself a couple of hours if I'd done this to start with, but where's the fun in that!

Now I don't mean to brag, but I drew this cloud all by myself lol. The quote is from a song on the Carousel of Progress ride in Disney World. It's one of my very favourite rides, I used to love the sit down in the cool after running around the theme parks with the kids.

These are the stamps that I've used. They are all from Lost Coast and are;

I hope that you like my journal page, and also that you join in with our fun challenge. Just show us your neon colours and your rubber (or clear) stamping for the chance to win some Lost Coast dollars.
Have a very happy weekend, and thanks so much for looking x

Love Lovely Life!

Good morning and a very happy Wednesday. Today I'm over on the Ink Art Designs Stamping Playground with my Twist & Pop card.

I recently bought these lovely Crafty Individual papers. You know when you buy something and then wish you'd got at least a dozen, well that was me. Luckily I did get quite a few though so all's good.

This is the inside of my card. I was going to put a panel to write my sentiment on but then decided that these butterflies were far too nice to cover up.

And this is my twist and pop element on the front.

As everyone knows by now, I love my Alice Palace (Crafty Individuals) stamps.

I really like this washi tape stamp, just perfect for stamping in any colour.

I really enjoyed making this, not sure that I'm ready to give it away though lol.
Dot has got oodles of the Crafty Individuals stamps here in the store, so have a look around. Also please join in with our challenge for the chance to win a stamp of your choice. Just remember to use any stamp from the ranges that Dot sells in the store.

Monochromatic For Country View Crafts

Good morning and a very happy Sunday! Can you believe it's August already. After last year which lasted a decade, this one is really flying!

As always on the 1st of the month it's time for a new challenge over at Country View Crafts, and this month the very lovely Debs has chosen Monochromatic.

I started by stenciling my background with a Sheena Douglass stencil and shades of purple, then added some Art By Marlene washi tape. I also stamped some Stampotique stamps in purples.

Then I added the Stampotique banner and some texture stamps. at this point I decided that a little bit of white would be nice, so I added some paint spatters.

Here's the lovely Moth Fab, again in her best purple attire!

And everyone's favourite, Smile.

I hope you like our fun challenge, and that you join in with the team. Have a very happy month, and thanks so much for looking x
