Tag Along

Good morning and a very happy Sunday.  Today I'm sharing a BIG card that I made with the Independent Women collection from Relatively Thoughtful.

I'm going through a bit of a tag phase at the moment, so here's a few more.

I started with a sheet of this beautiful purple card and added some stamping and paint spatters.

Then I cut some layers. It doesn't matter that there's not a full circle of yellow as this will be covered up.

I also matted some of the tags from the cut-apart sheet.

And dyed my seam binding to match. It's the first time I've used Oxides to die the binding. I really like the opaque coverage it gives - I had yellow fingers for days!

I also chose some pieces from the Stamperia Province chipboard collection. These coordinate perfectly with the Independent Women papers.

Sooo pretty!

The collection can be found here in Sally's store

Be Unique

Good morning and a very happy Thursday! Today I'm sharing my second project for the Country View Crafts Things With Wings, challenge, and this time I've made a postcard.

I started by making my background with some Oxide inks and a stencil.
Then I added some stamping with an old and a new Katzelkraft stamp.
I stamped my crazy bird and coloured it with Prismacolour pencils.

I liked how my background looked, but when I held my image against it, it looked a little bit lost.
To help cut down the background area I added some Tim Holtz tissue paper.
Of course, once I'd started it didn't end there!
I added more stamping and some washi tape to my background
The sentiment is also a Katzelkraft stamp, and
Susan has a great range of them all here in the store.

There is still loads of time left for you to join in with our challenge, so please pop over to the blog and link up your Things With Wings for the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend in the store.
Have a very happy day whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

Happy Easter Sunday

Good morning and a very happy Easter Sunday!

Today I'm sharing a card made with the Relatively Thoughtful Happy Easter Collection, and the 2023 new additions.

Aren't these new papers beautiful? There are both patterned papers and cut-apart sheets.

I started by folding my base cards and adding the papers.

And this is how it looks when it's constructed. As you can see, the base Z has the larger piece to the right, and the top one has the large piece to the left. Together they make a double Z.

These are some of the fabulous images from the cut-apart sheets. If anyone knows where the chickens and daffodils ended up could you please let me know!

He's such a cutie isn't he!
I decided to go big or go home with my sentiment.
The flowers were surprisingly easy to cut out. I think they look really nice in the corners.
I really like the style of this card, and I'll definitely be doing it again.
This beautiful collection can be found here in the store.

As always there is new inspiration every day on our social pages.
I hope you have a very happy week, and thanks so much for looking x

An ATC Concertina Tag Book

Good morning and a very happy Sunday!

Today I'm sharing an ATC-sized concertina tag book made with a gorgeous add-on to the Happy Easter collection from Relatively Thoughtful.

Isn't this a fabulous cut-apart sheet! I was deciding which images I wanted to use for my card, when I realised that I wanted to use them all, so it was a quick change of project.
These images are perfectly spaced on the sheet, enabling you to easily cut them out at ATC size. I have a corner chomper that cuts perfect tag corners. I ummed and ahhed a bit about buying it as it's pretty pricey, and all it does is cut tag corners BUT it cuts them perfectly every time! My only decision now was whether to stitch them or not.
Now it was time to make my concertina. Of course the measurement was 2 7/8ths - 3 inches would have been far too easy wouldn't it!
And yes, of course I stitched my tags.
Once they were all stuck down I added eyelets for my ribbons. It was important that everything was in place first so that I could go through all the layers. I used a little die and a scrap of card from the same collection to make my re-inforces. I stuck these down and let them dry for an hour as if they are not fully stuck they will come off as soon as you add the ribbons.
Time to dye my ribbons now. Making your own means you can get just the colours you want. I brought a huge roll home with me years ago from the USA - far more useful than a stick of rock!
Yup, blue fingers for a week!
And finally, here's my tag book. Isn't the lamb just the cutest ever?
I would normally have longer ribbons than this, but I wanted to make sure that they stood up, so I kept them quite short.
And it stands up by itself!
Some close-ups. Here are the 1st 3.
Then the middle 3.
And the final 3. Definitely a cuteness overload!
Isn't this add-on collection fabulous! It can be found here in digital and paper formats.

As always there is new inspiration every day over on our social pages.

There's still loads of time to make your Easter projects, so please head over to the store, there's so much there to get your inspiration flowing.
Have a very happy weekend, and thanks so much for looking x

Make My Day!

Good morning and a very happy Saturday, welcome to April and the weekend!

As always a new month is a new challenge at Country View Crafts, and this time it's Things With Wings. I've had these Katzelkraft stamps for quite a while now, so I thought it was time for me to use them.

These were really easy to make, so I'll just show you the pretty pictures.

The critters were stamped for placement and then some stencilling added with Distress Oxides.

I also stamped them onto some card, then had a very happy hour colouring them in with my Prisma pencils.

The sentiments are another fun Katzelkraft set.

This guy didn't come with wings so he's borrowed a pair from the critter above.

Now I'm not saying that these are my favourites, but they are very cute.

Susan has a wonderful selection of all things Katzelkraft here in the store.

Such a fun set of stamps and new challenge.

Please join in with us and show us your Things With Wings.

Take care and have a happy and crafty month x

I am joining in with the SSS Monday challenge Stencil It, and also the

SSS Wednesday challenge Anything Goes x
