A Floating Gatefold Card

Good morning and a very happy Sunday. We've had every type of weather here except snow, so it's rather fitting that I'm continuing with my Christmas In July theme with my Relatively Thoughtful papers.

I followed a tutorial by Paul (Papercrafting With Paul), and while I won't say this was easy, only one ended up in the bin! It was my own fault, I got a little overexcited with the wet glue lol.

You can find Paul's excellent facebook group here.

And the Youtube tutorial here.

I started by making my base card - I decided that black would look nice with these Christmas papers.

Then I chose my papers. I've used a combination of Christmas MAGIC and A TREEmendous Christmas.

This is the front with the base papers added. I love that you get the chance to really show off the papers.

Even the back looks pretty! I just need to add a sheet of white so that I have somewhere to add my sentiment.

And here we are with the embellishments and a sentiment.

Such cute snowmen!

I think that the knitted backgrounds go perfectly with the patterned images.

So pretty!

And it all folds flat to fit in a 7x5 envelope!

As always all of the collections are available here in Sally's store.

A Pinwheel Christmas Card For Relatively Thoughtful

Good morning and a very happy Sunday! Today I'm really happy to be sharing a Pinwheel Tower card made with the fabulous Christmas MAGIC collection from Relatively Thoughtful.

One of the best things about this card is that you can add loads of embellishments and it still folds flat for postage.

I started by choosing my papers. Because this card has four surfaces you can really go to town with the papers.

I started by making my base card. I cut my card to 14.5 cms which means that I can build the card with just 2 sheets of A4. I always use wet glue to make these, and this is my favourite and can be found in Sally's store.

Then I cut my papers, inked the edges and added some stitching. The knit effect papers work beautifully with all the images. You can mix them up, or if like me you can't do random you can match them lol.

There are also loads of cut-apart sheets to make your tags and toppers from.

And lots of sentiments too.

These papers are so fabulous and colourful!

And, as said before, it folds flat for postage.
The collection can be found here in Sally's store in both digital and physical formats. There's also daily inspiration on our social network pages.
Take care and have a very happy Sunday whatever you are doing - I'm meeting up with my teamie Karola at a crafty open day, so I'll be having lots of fun!
Have a very happy and crafty week xx

A Four Legged Friend

Good morning and a very happy Monday.

Here is my second project for the Country View Crafts 'A Four Legged Friend' challenge.

I know, my baby has turned 30 and he now has a baby of his own! Where did those years go? But you know what they say, the best is yet to come!

I started by making my brick wall background for my graffiti. There's lots of stencil paste and metallic paint which will act as a resist when I ink the edges later.

Then I made my bins using a Katzelkraft stamp and some Deco Art Media paints.

Now it's the turn of the four-legged friends. These have all been coloured with Prisma pencils.

Much cutting and sticking later... These rats just crack me up every time lol.

And his favourite part was the dustbins and the cheese-eating rat!

All things Katzelkraft can be found here in Susan's store.

I hope that you join in with our fun challenge, just remember that 4 legged animals must be the focus of your project.

Have a very happy week, and thanks so much for looking x

It's Christmas In July at Relatively Thoughtful

Good morning and a very happy Sunday.

As anyone who knows me knows Christmas is my favourite time of the year. You can imagine my delight when Sally brought out the beautiful TREEmendous Christmas collection.

I started by choosing my papers. These are available in the store in both digital and physical collections.
So papers chosen, I set about making my card.
I knew that I wanted to make a shaker, so I cut my layers. To save card and keep the weight down I gutted my base layer as only the edges will show.
This is my first layer added to the base card. The edges have been inked and a little bit of glitter added.
This is my next layer. I've added my images and lots of fake snow!

And this is the top layer. I've added some snowflake acetate underneath.
Now for the scary part, adding the sequins! I've put my shaker tape around the aperture, and the sequins onto the base, now I just need to keep a steady hand and put one onto the other, keeping it all straight - no pressure then!
And ta-da, all done!
The shaker box has been added to the base card, and I've put the frame around the aperture and added a Christmas tree and sentiment.
I'm not normally a fairy person, but this one is just so beautiful! She's been glittered and fake snow added, 'cos if you can't sparkle at Christmas when can you!
There's a whole sheet of Christmas trees to cut out.
And a page of sentiments too.
The collection is available here in Sally's store.

Take care and have a very happy weekend x

Will You Do The Fandango?

Good morning and a very happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend!

This month I'm hosting the challenge over at Country View Crafts and I've chosen "A Four-Legged Friend" Those of us who are of a certain age will now be singing along - you're welcome! Here's my first project.

These four just remind me of the Queen video for Bohemian Rhapsody - there's another song for your earworm, I'm really spoiling you today!

I started with a piece of black card and my new Lisa Horton Interference Ink pads.
Then I ran it through a music embossing folder and added some Stamperia gilding pastes.

These are my fun Funky Fosill stamps that I've coloured with my Prismacolor pencils.

And we're all done!
The Lisa Horton ink pads can be found here.
Please join in with our fun challenge and show us your four-legged friends.
Take care and have a very happy July x
