It's Very Purple and Very Girlie

The latest challenge at Stampotique is pink/purple with black, and at Fashionable Stamping it's Something For A Child, so I put them both together and came up with this. It's for my niece who's nine going on twenty five. She's no diva, but then she's not become a teenager yet lol. The chippie has been sprayed with my favourite Dylusion ink in Fuchia, then masked and sprayed again with Glimmer mist in purple.
I've stencilled through with black soot DI around the corners.
Prom Queen has been stamped on watercolour card and coloured with Dylusions and Inkydinks. The chipboard letters have been inked with pink embossing ink, and the UTEE'd in purple. I've carried on heating until the UTEE ran a little, so now you can see the pink and the purple.
The sentiment has been stamped and embossed then sprayed with the fuchia ink again. There's Glossy Accents over the top to raise it up a little, and for once I resisted the temptation to stick my finger into it to see if it were dry :o).
I really enjoyed making this, and I hope she likes it too.

I Wuf You

I finally got around to finishing my version of Tim's February tag of 2012. I think it's great that we get a chance to play all year long. I loved the 12 tags of Christmas but to be fair, there's usually plenty going on in December!   I didn't have the stamp or the embossing folder that Tim used, so I improvised a little with his script stamp.  I also freelanced a little with the heart - it's a plaster of paris one that I've coloured with Viva glass paint. This is amazing stuff, it dries really quickly and shiney. I LOVE IT! My grungeboard was very textured, so the Distress Stickles really had their work cut out.  I ended up putting some of the glass paint on top of Cupid too. As I was sanding the I love you all I could think of was this lol.
I don't know what Tim will have up his sleave for March, but I'm looking forward to it.

Just Because I Wanted To!

The challenge this time at Fashionable Stamping is 'monocromatic with one other colour'. Yellow is very much my colour of choice these days so I went with this and black.  This was the first page in my new journal,(no pressure) and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The stamping's not perfect but I don't care lol. Lots of spraying and masking for the background, then mainly Stampotique stamps.  I really love the Hopi Prayer so I masked off bits and stamped through Post It notes. It's all finished off with loads of Perfect Pearls Mist in Sunshine Yellow so it's quite hard to photograph because  of the shine.
I really enjoyed doing this one - just because I wanted to.

Alice Comes Out Of The Closet

I tend to stalk challenge blogs for a while before I pluck up the courage to join in, and this time the unlucky victim has been The Altered Alice
which celebrates all things Alice in Wonderland. The challenge this month is to use hearts. I've used a chipboard box that I got as part of a set from The Range and painted it with white acrylic. The heart and crown stamps are from Cherry Pie Art Stamps and I've had these for a couple of years now but  have hardly used them.
I covered the lid in various tissue and washi tapes, then decided that I would rather have acetate in the middle, so cut it out with a craft knife. I may as well have used a knife and fork for this - an expert with a craft knife I am not! I stamped some acetate from the same stamp set and stuck it to the box lid, then embossed the edges to try and cover up the mess I had made in cutting it out :o)
This is the inside of the box, again using the Cherry Pie stamps of Alice and the Queen of Hearts.
And this is how it looks altogether, in real life you can see the Cheshire Cat up a tree grinning down on them. I really enjoyed making this even though it's another of those 'what are you going to do with that' thing lol.

This Is A Man's World - Sort Of

The challenge this month
at the Art Journey Challenge blog is to make a mans card in rainbow colours. This was never going to be easy 'cos men's card never are, and rainbow colours?? all mens cards are green or brown lol. Anyway I've sprayed and inked in yellows and orange and blue and green and the final rainbow colour seedless preserve :o) The fish and coral have been stamped and embossed in pearlescent ink then inked over with DI's and distress stains. Lots of Glossy Accents  over the words and to give the fish bubbles. All of the stamps are from Art Journey.

On The Case....

The challenge this fortnight over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog is to CASE a Stampotique designer. Now I had no idea what this meant, but luckily all was explained and it means to Copy And Steal Everything. So I went straight on over to Jo Capper-Sandon's blog 'cos Stampotique said - nay insisted that it was OK to copy!
This is what I came up with, using Jo's Papillon and butterfly stamps. This copying isn't as easy as it looks, you get used to doing things a certain way so it was really good to change the sizes of the mats and things. The top layer is velum so I put on the gems to try and cover the adhesive.
Here is the original which can be found here. I've always loved this card, but then I love everything that Jo creates. (I'm not a stalker honestly I just love her stamps lol). Head on over to Stampotique and get CASEing! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend x

Has Anyone Seen My Comfort Zone!!!

'Cos I just stepped outside for a minute and then it was gone!! I have
worshipped from afar the brilliant art journal pages that others seem to produce at the drop of a hat. Now I can ink up a piece of card or whatever, but as soon as I try to do this in a joined up journal it's RUBBISH!. Oh the books that have had the first 4 pages ripped out of are endless (by endless I mean 5 lol) BUT all this is about to change - I'm going to journal by George and I don't care who knows it! Trouble is I can't write. I mean of course I can write, but I write much the same as I draw - like a 5 year old 3 year old! But as this journal is mine that doesn't matter does it! So spurred on by The Craft Barn's latest AJ challenge - here are a few of my favourite things!
Have a great weekend and thanks very much for looking x

Rule Britannia!

I had to make a 'guy' card this weekend, these are soooo easy arn't they - not!! My base card has been cut with a Go Kreate die, and the layers are Kanbans from the Carnaby Street range. The top layer on the base is cut from a sheet of Pink Paislee mistables, and inked with Barn Door and Chipped Sapphire DI's.
The Union Flag was stamped onto red card with Indigo Blue Flitter glue and then gilded with their gilding flakes. All of the stamps are Artistic Outpost's from the London Underground and Lovely London sets.
This has been stamped onto black card with Brilliance ink in gold, then I've gone over the top with Rocket Red and clear embossed.
This has been stamped onto black card then painted over with Perfect Pearls in Interference Red, and misted with water to set. The bling is from Poundland and very nice it is too lol.
The rosette has been cut with the Union Flag Kanban card, and a lion charm stuck in the middle. More Rocket Red for the soldiers. The referral programme at Artistic Outpost this month is Shades of Red and there is a fab prize for the winner.
I'm also entering this into the Fashionable Stamping challenge which is Make it a Guy Thing, and The Stampman's which is Embellish it.
