Good morning and happy Wednesday (or as happy as it can be under the very unusual circumstances that we are living with at the moment). Today sees a new month, and the start of a new challenge over at Country View Crafts, and this month it's Animal Magic. I was so happy when I saw this theme as I have loads of fabulous animal stamps, (some of which have never been inked) so here's the first of my makes.
I started by making an inky background with my favourite Distress Oxides.
Then I stencilled through with some PaperArtsy Fresco paints in Hyde Park and Cheesecake.
Time for my previously un-inked Pink Ink Cow's It Going (you gotta love that name for a stamp set :-D )
Then I made an absolute mess of it all and had to start all over again (yes it really was that bad!!)
So, back to where we were, background done, cow stamped, all looking good. Just need to put in the sentiment now, so onto the stamping platform .... and it fell off! Oh Moo! I am not starting again! But wait, I hear you say haven't you just done this on another one???
Yes I have, I reply! So after a bit of spare part surgery, I now have 2 cards. I think I prefer the one on the left - it looks a little more finished!
I actually prefer the silly moo being raised up on foam tape, and I would never have thought to do that if all had gone well. I've used the rest of the first card to cut some foliage from one of Tim's die sets.
This was (mostly) great fun to make, and I know that you will enjoy joining in with our challenge.
I'm entering my cow into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which is a Spring mood board.

Thank you so much for looking, take care, and stay safe xx
Love this card, and that stamp. I love cows, and started collecting cows at an early age. Have a great day, take care, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh, how annoying, when this happens! But you fixed everything in a great way, so that, in the end, it became a happy accident =)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful April - in spite of the circumstances.

Just your post title made me laugh! And then I got to do it all over again when I saw that wonderful twisted horn cow. It may have taken some veterinarian surgery to get there, but it's so worth it in the end. Gorgeous blended colours in the background and the stitching detail is a great finishing touch.

I love your fun card and your fabulous background!!! Happy April and big hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your pastel coloured background and the cow image is gorgeous! I often think that half of the crafting skills is ordinary problem solving as I try to correct something that went wrong! And yes sometimes it lead to even BETTER results! xx
ReplyDeleteThis just made me laugh out loud (in a good way), the sentiment is just fabulous and I love the beautiful background you created. Your spare part surgery worked wonderfully well! Love it.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well. Hugs, Anne xx
It’s happened to all of us! Great final result though, love this card.

ReplyDeleteLove the resulting card even if you did have to chew the cud for a while before coming up with a solution! Hugs Mrs

I bet there was lots of giggles heard making this during the mishaps and no swears words at all hee hee!! Just look at all those extras you have to play with now :)
ReplyDeleteYou've used some of my favourite oxides in the background and yes what a great name for a stamp, the illustrations of Pink Ink are outstanding indeed, Love those raised up areas the black underneath makes them pop pop pop.
Hope you are enjoying your lock in Sue?? My Mother in Law was very happy we were able to get her 2 bottles of Rose this week.
Creative Hugs Tracey xx
