Good morning and happy Thursday. It's the 1st of the month again so give yourself a 'pinch and a punch' and say 'white rabbits'. Now you've done all that it's time for another challenge at Country View Crafts, and it's a cracker this month, chosen by Christine 'Anything But Cute'.
We have a very special birthday coming up in the family, my Auntie will be (drum roll please) 70. This is the card I've made for her.
It's not my usual style at all, but as the Crazy Dogs are banned for this challenge as they're far too cute, I had to come up with a plan B.
This is a Tonic shutter card die, that just cuts straight into a A4 piece of card, but as it's a big birthday, I though I needed a big card, so I cut 2 and stuck them together. Then I cut them again in white and used the cut out bits on the cards.
The panel dies are also in the set, so I stayed with a black and white theme. The daisies are by K&Co and have been in my stash since time began.
Speaking of when time began, the gold card has been cut with a Spellbinders Nestibility, and I dread to think how old it is, but it just goes to prove that if you keep something long enough it will come in useful! The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is from my 'go to' Tim Holtz thinlits set.
I've also used the Tim Holtz Detailed Butterflies die and embossed some stamped words in white.
All that's missing is a big fat 70 - I'm sure I can sneak one in somewhere, 'cos we don't want her forgetting ;-)
I'm pleased with how it turned out, but how I missed my stamping and inking. For birthday cards though I try and think what the recipient would like - I was full on inky the day after though!
So put away your cutie bits, and join in with our challenge! Have a great February, and thanks very much for looking xx
