A Close Shave

Good afternoon and happy Sunday. PaperArtsy have a fun challenge (well they do for the next couple of hours or so  - nothing like being last minute) of reinkers. This is what I've made.

I decided to use shaving foam with my reinkers. I've only ever done this once, about 10 years ago, but after much searching, I found the foam.

I used far too much foam and the container was too big, but nobody died. The re-inkers are Distress Ink, so very bright.

 This smells so good!

Once I'd scraped the foam off and trimmed them down a bit they started to look a lot better.

I die cut one of each colour with a roladex die.

Then added lots of stencilling with Scrapcosy stencils, and stamping with a Tracy Scott set.

I then stamped and painted the images with Fresco paints, cut them out, and we're all done!
I'd better head off and link this into the challenge, pretty quickly, so thanks very much for looking, and enjoy the rest of your weekend xx

Oh Those Ruby Slippers

Good afternoon and happy Monday. It's my turn to share my 'Follow The Yellow Brick Road' piece for Lost Coast Designs

I always think that these monkeys are far scarier the the wicked witch. If you pop on over to the Portal there are more photographs of how this was made.
I've used the Carmen's Veranda 'Flying Monkeys' stamp for this,  and the sentiment was typed on my computer.
This is a sad post for me, as it's my last one for Lost Coast Designs. I've had a fabulous 18 months on the team, so a big thank you to Linda for having me.
There's still time for you to join in with our challenge, so I hope to see you over at the Portal. Have a happy week, and thanks very much for looking x

Happy Birthday To You!

Good morning and happy Thursday. It was Neil's birthday at the weekend, so I thought I'd better make the old guy a card.

This has been made with my go to colours, and favourite PaperArtsy stamps, so I may confiscate it after his birthday week, and give it to him again next year!

You're never too old for a shaker card!

For those of you who've never seen Neil, he looks a bit like this guy (but not as skinny, and without the bow tie).
I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, Bling It On, (what could be blingier than sequins), and the Craft Stamper September TIMI challenge.
Have a very happy week, and thanks for looking x

Enjoy The Journey

Good morning and happy Monday. It's my turn to share my second piece for the Country View Crafts 'Trains, Planes, and Automobiles' challenge. This time I've made a tag

Now this was very hard for me because it meant cutting up one of my precious sheets of Graphic 45 paper, but it just fitted the bill too nicely not to use it. I started with a black Ranger Giant Tag and trimmed my paper to fit.

Then I stamped some of my favourite Artistic Outpost, Tim Holtz, and TPC stamps and cut out, along with other bits from the G45 sheet.
The hardest part was arranging them all so that they didn't cover up all the lovely backing paper, and this is how it ended up - although I'm not much of a vintage gal (I know until I look in a mirror) I do like this.
I'm entering my tag into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is 'pop it up' and the
Craft Stamper TIMI September 'anything goes' challenge
There's still lots of time for you to join in with our challenge, so I hope you do.
Have a fun day, and thanks very much for looking x

Whimsy Wonderland

Good morning and happy Friday. The first 'crafty' thing I ever saw was an image being stamped and embossed. I was blown away with these little pots of magic, and to this day stamps and embossing powder are my very favourite supplies.

This is my second piece for the Ruber Dance Stamping Lounge. I've used lots of UTEE's here and then stamped the fabulous trees and shrooms from the Rubber Dance Carved Whimsy Wood set while it was still liquid.
I hope to see you over in the Lounge where you can enter our colour/anything goes challenge.
As always for free worldwide P&P on any Rubber Dance orders of 15 Euros or above, just quote SDFreeShip at the checkout.
I hope you like my tags, and thanks very much for looking x

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Autumn

Good morning and happy Wednesday. It's a lovely day here today, but I can't kid myself that Summer is still here, it's definitely Autumnal now, so out have come my Autumn colours.

The owl's are a Rubber Dance set, Owl Do Good and I've coloured them with PaperArtsy Infusions and Satin Glaze. I don't know why I associate owls with Autumn, I'm sure they're an all year round bird lol.
Don't forget we have a new Facebook group at Rubber Dance where you can enter our challenges and show all your Rubber Dance makes. Just click on the link if you're not already a member https://www.facebook.com/groups/311557542913461/
I'm entering them into Dot's challenge at Ink Art Designs, the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies, and September's TIMI challenge at Craft Stamper.
Have a very happy day, and thanks for looking xx

There Be Monsters

Good afternoon, and happy Tuesday. I hope the weather is being kind to you, it's a little breezy here, so the perfect drying day. It must be a sign of old age when you judge each day according to how well it will suit the washing and ironing!
I'm really enjoying the current PaperArtsy challenge of Artist Trading Coins, so here's some more.

I've used JOFY and Zinski stamps, and Fresco paints. I really enjoyed painting these, and yes, I did stick my tongue out!
Have a fab day, and thanks very much for looking xx

For this one I've used

Feather Diva With Face and
Carmen's Veranda Be Crazy Be Stupid

There more pictures over on the Portal, and there's still loads of time for you to join in.
Have a very happy weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

All Loved Up

Good morning and happy Wednesday. There's a fun new challenge over on the PaperArtsy blog, and that is Artist Trading Coins. Here's mine.

These have been made using these Tracy Scott stamps, some London Bus Fresco paint, and a black china marker. This is my favourite red paint, as it's translucent so doesn't obliterate everything underneath it like my red Posca pen does (though this can be very useful at times)

I've made an anniversary card with the coins, using other stamps from the set, along with a Tim Holtz Shadow Script sentiment. I've made this card with a week to spare, and that's unheard of. BUT.... I haven't put an insert in yet, and I'm not fancying the walk to the Post Office today, so in my crystal ball I see a last minute dash, and the space time continuum has been restored!
Everything can be found at Country View Crafts, just click on the picture to be whisked away.
I'm also joining in with the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge, which is Stamp On It.
Have a wonderful day, and thanks very much for looking x

Wild At Heart

Good morning and happy Tuesday. I'm over at the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge today with my trio of wild ones for this months colour/anything goes challenge.

These have all been made with gelli plate backgrounds and a memorydex die.

Here's everyones favourite giraffe from the African Animals set, or you can just buy her on her own. The sentiment is from the Sarcastic Superpower set.

This is the elephant - but you knew that. My yoga pants have never been either!

And these guys are from the Fish, Swim Love set. I think I have to be a strong contender for the Captain Obvious award today!.
I now have 5 cards on my Rolodex, but you have to start somewhere.
I hope you like these, and that you join in with our challenge. If you're not a member of 'The Lounge' yet just click on the link and you will be transported as if by magic.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/311557542913461/
If you would like (or of course NEED) any of these stamps, just quote SDFreeShip at the Rubber Dance checkout for free worldwide P&P on any order of 15 Euros and above.
Have a wonderful day, and thanks very much for looking xx

Paper Piecing For Lost Coast Designs

Good afternoon and welcome to my second piece of the day! Lots of new challenges starting today, including Lost Coast Designs, who have chosen Paper Piecing. Here's what I've made.

I started by stamping the Carmen's Veranda Bird Collage on a sheet of acetate. I painted the branches, then stamped the birds and leaves on some patterned paper, cut out, and stuck down over the acetate.
I stuck this onto some paper from a Christmas pack. I put the glue where the birds were, this way it didn't show on the acetate. When it was firmly stuck down I sewed it in place.

I matted and layered onto some more paper from the same pack, and it's all done.
I really enjoyed making this, it's ages since I've done some paper piecing. I'll see you later in the month with my second piece.
I think this is the last of my pieces for today, so I hope you join in with our challenge, and thanks very much for looking xx

Taxi!!

Good morning and happy Saturday - welcome to September! It seems like those long hot days of Summer are long gone - at times they were a bit much, but oh how I miss them now.
There's a fun new challenge over at Country View Crafts, it's Trains, Planes, and Automobiles, and here is my first piece.

I started by matting and layering some map pages from an old map. I actually bought a new one from  The Works to do this, but Neil confiscated it and gave me his old one - how rude! To be honest I was lucky to get that from him. We have a sat nav in the car, but he still insists on taking Ye Olde AA Big Red Book, which show the A1 as the Great North Road, and the M1 as a planned road!

Then I stamped my London images from a PaperArtsy stamp set and cut them out.
And we're all done! No planes or trains, but please come back later in the month and who knows.
I hope you enjoy our fun challenge, there's a £20 shopping voucher up for grabs so please join in.
Have a fab September, and thanks very much for looking x
