It's been ages since I've had time to take part in the challenges over at PaperArtsy, so I was really pleased to be able to play along this week. Helen made a fabulous heart for the 10th birthday celebrations, and I wanted a go.
I followed the instructions as closely as I could, and was really pleased with my crackling. I am not good (absolutely rubbish) at crackling, but I put it on with a palate knife instead of a paintbrush like I've done in the past, and whoo hoo perfect crackles :-) Thank you PA crackle, it does exactly what it says on the tin!
This is my favourite side, I love Zesty Zing. I applied silver texture paste through a stencil, liked it a lot and applied the 'if it's not broken don't add any more paint' to it rule, and walked away lol.
If you havn't visited the PaperArtsy blog this week you must head on over and see what Darcy has created (then pick up your jaw )
I've used stamps from Lynne Perrella plates 004 017 and the lovely little text stamp is from IATD Clocks 1.
Thanks very much for looking, and enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Three Circles For Stampotique (oh yeah and it's Christmas)
The lovely Kaz has asked us to use 3 circles in our project today. Here's what she says.
I love using circles on things I make, as you may have noticed. If I get stuck for an idea, I generally start with a circle to help me out. I'd like you to use 3 circles on whatever you make this week. Just make sure you have fun!
I don't know if the recent sunshine has gone to my head, but I decided that it was a good idea to make a Christmas card!
The background is Abstract Foliage that's been stamped with Distress Inks over both layers. I've also used Jo's star, which came with Craft Stamper in the UK.
The Welcome Door has been stamped on Whitewash paper, and the first of my circles is Front Door Shrubbery, which has been done on shrink plastic.
My favourite snow man ever Global Warming? is circle number 2, and Owl Tree is number 3. This has been stamped on the card and an acetate overlay.
I've used part of Christmas Waves A Magic Wand for my sentiment, and all done. This will definitely have to be hand delivered 'cos Royal Mail would want a fortune to deliver this as it's more than a millimetre deep - bitter moi :-) Don't get me started on postal charges!
I really enjoyed making this, thank you Kaz for a great challenge.
You can play along too, just use three circles on your make and link up with us. You don't even need to use Stampotique stamps (but why wouldn't you).
Thanks very much for looking and have a great day x

Nice Day For A White Wedding....
The fabulous and talented Maria has chosen the theme this week at Stampotique, and she has gone with weddings.
Summer is the perfect season for weddings and special events. I personally don't like weddings so much. But I do enjoy making wedding cards and other handmade items. My challenge for you this weeks is: WEDDING! Create a card, layout, favor, anything you want.
I was doing so well with the sweet and heartsy thing until flippin' Billy Idol came into my head, then it all got a bit splatty lol.
Neil just shook his head and muttered something about 'just can't help yourelf'....
The top layer has been stamped on vellum, and the Queen of Hearts is wearing a vellum wedding dress.
This was great fun to make, especially when I embraced my splatty side :-)
I've used
Daniels Hearts
Hanging Hearts
Queen of Hearts
Mad Hatter
Splatter Long
Please play along with us and make something with a wedding theme. Remember there are 2 $30 gift certificates for the lucky winners in August.
Thanks very much for looking and enjoy your day x

Going Dotty
Roc's in charge this week over at Stampotique, and she has asked for Polka Dots.
The background is a little canvas that I blobbed paint onto.
I then went about covering it all up lol.
The frame is a Tim Holtz die that's been inked, spritzed and flicked.
The images have been coloured with Dylusions and Distress Markers.
The polka dots are glass paints, and my tree has been cut from washi tape.
This was such fun to make as these images always bring a smile to my face.
I've used
banner
upward bound
world of her own
village
home sweet home
I'm also entering this into the Pan Pastel challenge which is cute and cuddly. They don't get any cuter than Zara, and
Country View Crafts quotations and saying. My quote is from Frances Hodgeson Burnett's The Secret Garden

MIA
Here's a sneaky look at one of the cards I made for Sam's show for C&C on Monday. Unfortunately Royal Mail liked it so much they kept it for days and days and... so by the time they delivered it the show was over. Thanks very much Royal Mail!
Thankfully Mr Blogger is far more reliable and can transport you over at the click of a button.

A Colour Challenge For Stampotique
It's the wonderful Jane's turn to play hostess this week over at Stampotique, and she has chosen a colour challenge.
Jane here asking you to use any shades of purple, orange and yellow together on your creation for this new Stampotique challenge! I love color and these really talk to me. :) Hope you will join us in making this Stampotique challenge one of the most colorful challenges yet! Can't wait to see these colorful creations popping out all over blog-land in purples, oranges and yellows :) After all..Summer is suppose to be hot and colorful right?

This is the front page of a chipboard album that I got from the MDF Man.
I started by painting it with a mixture of Distress Paints and Paper
Artsy Fresco's. I then added some Dylusion sprays through stencils and overstamped with my favourite Vintage Script
Molly has been stamped onto tissue paper and painted with white acrylic on the back to make her stand out.
Just Be U has been stamped and cut out and layered.
The border has been doodled with black and white pens - I really enjoyed this bit, and it's as far as my doodling goes lol.
It was really good to get inky and painty, and I loved the colour challenge so thanks very much for the idea Jane.
Please join in with our challenge for a chance to win one of two $30 gift certificates.
Thanks very much for looking and enjoy your day x

Step Up For Creative Studios and an Apology
Here's a little look at my latest piece for Sam Poole's Creative Studios.
She's also got some shows on Create and Craft next Tuesday so do try and watch.
My apologies to everyone who has visited my blog recently. I've been noticeable by my absence lately as real life has caught up with me with a bang. I do always look but I've been rubbish at leaving comments. Hopefully next week things should start to get back to normal for me (whatever normal is lol)
Here's hoping the weather stays nice for the weekend, and thanks very much for looking x
