I Need To Be Right By Your Side

This month the challenge at Crafty Individuals is anything goes. This has to mean it's time to break out the Alice Palace stamps, so here's a coaster.

I started by painting my plain white tile with DecoArt Multi Surface paints.
The penguins have been stamped onto tissue paper then painted on the back with white paint.
Once dry I've sprayed with DecoArt varnish and added some cork to the base.
I really like these stamps - very cute but not yuk lol.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking.

How Old!

Hi this time at Stampotique Kathi has chosen the theme and she has gone for a milestone birthday. Here's what she says.
21, 25, 50, 60th Birthday or Anniversary -- It's time to celebrate! Let's see a project that celebrates those sometimes scary milestones of life!
A friend of mine has recently celebrated his 35th birthday - apparently 35 is the new 25 lol.
The background was made by embossing the numbers from Alphabet Upper then sprinkling Brushos over the top.
Monster News has been stamped and cut out, and he's wearing a hat from Happy Head Applicances
Happy Birthday has been stamped onto shrink plastic.

Still needed a sentiment to finish, so I've chosen Love and Laughter

Hope you like it, and that you'll join in with our challenge. Thanks very much for looking x

It Takes Two

Hi and happy Thursday. This weeks theme at Stampotique has been chosen by Nellie  and she wants us to use just 2 stamps. Here's what she has to say.
I tend to use a lot of stamps when I create something. Thought I might challenge myself and all of you by limiting the number of stamps. So no more than two stamps please.
Mmm now that really is a challenge, but here's what I came up with.

I've gone with a mixture of the old and the new stamps here.
Here's Schmurfy with his old mate
Mr Stripes. You see a spider isn't just for Halloween!
This was a fun challenge Nellie, it really got me thinking! I hope you'll join in too and keep to just 2 stamps. Remember there are gift certificates for two lucky winners to spend in the Stampotique store.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x

99 Red Balloons Go By

Hi, and happy Wednesday. It's time for me to share my 2nd 'numbers' creation for Country View Crafts. As I'm very old, this is a blast from the past.

I cut a piece of watercolour paper to 8x8 then applied gesso through a cloud stencil. Next I did a colour wash with Aqua Tints, then stencilled my little girl with an old black inkpad.
Then I cut out lots and lots and lots (99 to be exact, and yes I was exact) different sized red balloons. I must admit they didn't all make it here so I have a little collection of hearts for next time.
Here's a stuffed felt one.
The words have been cut out of felt with the Tim Holtz Word Play die, and the streamers are quilling papers.
This is one of the rare occasions when what I have in my head is pretty much what comes out on paper.
There's lots of time for you to join in our challenge, so please play along.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x

The Heart Sees

I've been watching Andy Skinner You-Tube video's again and having a play with my Deco Art paints.
I've bought some 99.9% isopropanol and find that this works much better than the 75%.
This is the background using Transparent yellow oxide, Quin magenta, Cobalt turquoise, and Titanium white.

The stamps are from the old Gothic Andy Skinner set (the stamps are old and Gothic not Andy lol)
The background is foam board and I'm really please with how it has taken a battering, and how easy it was to die cut.
The heart has been stamped onto book paper with the Quin Magenta, then gone over with One Step Crackle, and finally some Champagne Ice Metallic Lustre has been rubbed over the top.
I enjoyed making this - a lot!
I've also been computer shopping - I saw a very nice young lad in PC World and am now the proud owner of an all in 1 PC - whoo hoo! I can collect it at the weekend when he's done all the technical stuff and Neil and myself will have a tutorial on how it works. Apparently there's this new thing called the internet.... and Windows 10 .... I shall be having a lesson about a computer and taking notes with a pen and paper (at least I know how to fly these)
Enjoy what's left of the weekend, and thanks very much for looking xx

Good News And Bad News

The bad news is my computer has died and gone to the big internet in the sky
The good news is I'm going computer shopping in the morning.
Actually I hate shopping so that's good news and bad news in itself.
This is getting too deep for me lol.
Hopefully normal blog browsing will be resumed shortly.
Enjoy whats left of the weekend x

You've Been Framed

The challenge at Indigo Blu this time is Frame It.

I started with a couple of chipboard hearts and trimmed one down to form the frame. The border has been stamped with the text from Caitlin
Caitlin herself has been stamped and coloured with Prisma Pencils, then masked. I've used a spritzer tool around the edges with Distress Markers.
To cover the frame I've stamped lots of Limor's Circles and punched them out.
Lots and lots of circles.
This was a really fun challenge - hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x

Perfectly Primary

Hi, I'm very happy to be the hostess today at Stampotique, and for my theme I've chosen the primary colours.
Take 2 of the 3 primary colours (and the colours that they create when mixed) and just use these on your creation. You can also use black and white if you like.
Here's mine

Red and yellow Brusho's
This is Kate's new Jester stamp, and Just Keep On sentiment.
Blue and yellow spray inks.

Stamped with Ta Dah
Red and blue acrylic paint. I was meaning to use the other side but it was a bit too busy, and I'm trying not to be afraid of white space.
With Text Block 3 in the background, and Christmas Boots.
I hope you like them, and that you join in with my challenge. Remember there a gift certificates for 2 lucky winners.

Have fun, and thanks very much for looking x
