Good morning and happy Wednesday! So today we are due to have, in no particular order, sunshine, showers, thunderstorms, more sunshine, wind, and lightning strikes - it can only mean one thing, the English Summer! Actually, this is a Yorkshire Summer, although there is no snow forecast for today, but never say never!
So before you think you've inadvertently clicked into a weather forecast, I'd better show you the page that I've made for the Ink Art Designs Stamping Playground!
I have literally hundreds of Stampotique stamps, and no way could I chose a favourite, but Take Your Time is certainly in my top 3. There's just something magical about these two brothers (in my head) standing together with no words needed.
I knew exactly how I wanted my page to look-(this is not going to end well is it...) Not a card today, a 'just for fun' piece. I brayered my main background in Fresco's, and also made a rather nice mop up sheet.
And then disaster struck. I put a moon in the top corner with my gelli plate, and I think I must have let it dry for too long because when I lifted it up, it took bits of the paper with it. As you can see, it wasn't toooo bad, but of course, I tried to make it better. - you can see where I'm going with this can't you... So a plan B was needed and I put in a new moon. The inside ring has been cut from my mop up piece. I also stamped Take Your Time and coloured with watercolours.
And here we are all done. The sentiment is another Stampotique stamp.Have I mentioned today how much I hate the new Blogger, if not, consider it done now!!!!!!! and breathe.....
A whole range of Stampotique can be found here in Dot's store. Dot has an offer at the moment in the store. All Visible Image stamps have been reduced by 10-15% and selected Lavinia stamps have a 10% reduction, so it's the ideal time to go shopping!
Thank you very much for looking, and have a great day, whatever you are doing x
Hi Sue, I guess sometimes things happen to steer us in another direction, I really love your piece with the mop up! How gorgeous are these two brothers too, it is one of my favs as well.
ReplyDelete4 seasons in one day, are the best days lol.

Ink Art Designs, a great place to find great stamps
Gorgeous piece Sue, love the stamp. Great colours and sewing today. Our weather is simpler - just friggin hot all the time. We did get thunder and lightning last night, some places even got rain, we didn't! Take care, try bikini with wellies as all weather suitable clothing!
ReplyDeleteA delightful background

ReplyDeleteI love your replacement stitched moon for your page, and I can’t remember when I last inked up any of my Stampotique stamps so great inspiration page. You do get used to new blogger I took the plunge when it first reared it’s head.

That really is a lovely stamp with the brothers - and I love how small they are in relation to the moon... (I get that sense of perspective when I look at the night sky - we're really pretty insignificant!) But it's such a sweet sentiment too - and lovely stitching round the moon too.

Well, I would call this result a happy accident, I love the background - and the way the moon stands out. The brothers are adorable, I love the way one has his head cocked to the side.
ReplyDeleteI have tried the new Blogger just this week and it seems OK... so far...! Hope it improves for you. Keep safe and well. Hugs, Anne xxx
Well now that turned out just great I must get my Stampotique stamps out again. I love Yorkshire weather but then I am slightly biased though there are those who might say my family only just live in Yorkshire as they are as far South as you can get and now I'm forced to live in Lincolnshire. Have a lovely crafty week (while the rain comes down Lol!). Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteI love this, Sue! I am far away (about 3,000 miles) from my children, my grandchildren and very dear friends, so knowing we all look at that same moon helps me cope. I also really, really like that "brothers" stamp and have used it many times. I think your moon had a successful recovery. 😁
ReplyDeleteAwww Sue that little mishap was just creativity's way of telling you to do it another way, love what you did with the new moon with it's stitchy edge it's like a huge port hole looking out for the snow, you know it will surprise you one morning after 30deg heat. Those wee folk are very sweet indeed. Hope you are keeping well and enjoying our changing weather? It sure gives us something to look out the window at. Take care & stay very safe & most important of all Thank you for sharing this little piece of awesomeness Hugs Tracey xx
ReplyDeleteOh Sue, I just love this ... well done.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Wednesday awful, so wet! Must admit I stayed in all day.
Now it's windy with Storm Ellen, certainly changeable weather.
Enjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan
Just fabulous love the colors and design.
