There have been many truism's over the years, like 'Simples' and 'don't eat yellow snow' but the truest of them all has to be 'if it isn't broke don't fix it'
In real life that translates to 'it doesn't need that extra dab of Beach Hut so DON'T risk putting a blue thumb print over the lady's face' oops too late...
This PaperArtsy challenge from the brilliant Carol Quance was never going to be easy for me. I'm not a fan of Oriental (though I do genuinely LOVE the new Lynne Perrella stamps). This tag features the only Oriental stamps that I own. I tried to follow Carol's directions though was never entirely happy with the background, so this morning I thought 'lets dab a bit more beach hut' - you can guess the rest. So bottom left lady has had a face transplant!
I've had this little wooden tile since time began so I stamped it with my bamboo stamp - ta da! I really did enjoy making this especially playing with the embossing powders :-)
Thanks very much for looking and enjoy your Sunday xx
Absolutely gorgeous - lovely colour; fantastic stamping - truly exquisite piece of work. Love it!!! x
ReplyDeletePS Really admire the way you coped with the little 'accident' with the beach-hut too; a lesson to us all!
ReplyDeleteYour tag is beautiful! I'm not a fan of oriental either, and I don't like those new stamps from LP, I think they are scary! Have a nice Sunday, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHow Fabulous Sue. The colours are perfect and I love the stamp. Hugs Rita xx
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! It has tremendous impact with the green and gold and the white faces. Love the addition of the bamboo tile,

I thought I'd done with my oriental phase too but these LP stamps are drawing me back in... love your layout, works really well for me - great image and I love your coloured scalloped layer at the bottom.

ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow, Sue! The face transplant is Perfect, and I wouldn't have known if you hadn't told me. The colours are just gorgeous! Love it !

Some wonderful images and colours on this tag Sue. Great saying to think about when we are making anything lol
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
Wouldn't have even guessed that you had an Oops! moment creating this great tag, Sue!! Love the "script" stamp in your background, too. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteA great tag Sue, absolutely FABULOUS. I love especially your stamped ladies of course (did you correct the problem ?? I don't see any dark or blue color on any face...), but also the bottom edge of it is very gorgeous !! Coco xx
ReplyDeleteLove this Sue. It screams Oriental but not in the traditional sense which is so refreshing. Oh, and I have SO been there with the thumbprints (tend to avoid using white as a result!) You've managed to conceal the transplant perfectly. Round of applause for that alone! Hugs, Jenny x
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. If you hadn't mentioned that you had a teeny paint accident with the lower left lady, I never would have known.
