My princess is sitting on diamonds, as that's the challenge over on Tag You're It this weekend.
The glossy paper has been sponged with dye ink pads, a technique I have shamlessly copied from Glenda's February newsletter from the Graphicus guild.
I never have any luck colouring this image, so I have left well alone!
Her crown is grungboard (not really very fitting for a princess) painted with gold acrylic. This has been decorated with real diamonds - What you don't believe me!! lol
Oh - and the best bit, I tidied up straigh away after myself so who's a good girl!!
Thanks very much for looking, and have a great weekend xx

You Have To Kiss A Few Frogs.....
so they say, before you find your prince!
I've just discovered the Imaginisce range of stamps and I've fallen in love with them. They are really cute and easy to work with. The sketch is from the Truly Scrumptious
challenge site, this is a new blog and they don't mind if your entry is also for another challenge. As I seem to have got the challenge bug this is great 'cos there just arn't enough crafting hours to enter 'em all!
My new best froggy friend is great for the Daring Cardmakers challenge which is frogs or fish.
The papers are all DCWV from last years QVC TSV's.
That's it from me for a few days 'cos its back to work tomorrow. Thanks very much for looking x
Fly Me To The Moon
The challenge today over at The Sunday Stampers is Under The Moon Of Love. Well of course I'm old enough to remember this - I've even been known to do the funny little dance if I've had enough to drink :o). The main image in an Inca stamp from the bottom of the box, and the words are by Cherry Pie. The star is a piece of grungeboard which has been painted and embossed.
This ATC is mark 2 - the original went in the bin. I even got as far as scanning it before admitting that I just didn't like it!
Enjoy what's left of the weekend and thanks for looking xx

Not Quite What I Had In Mind....
You know what it's like when you know exactly what you want to make but then your 'creation' seems to grow legs and run off in it's own direction, well that's what happened with this.
As soon as I saw that the challenge over at Lots To Do
was eyes I knew that I had to use the beautiful girl image. I also knew I had the eye stamp somewhere, but as my filing system consists of a big yellow tub, it wasn't easy to find.
There's been lots of embossing and brayering but as I have used a matt tag rather than glossy this is what it turned out like. Not what I had in mind but I quite like it all the same.
Happy Sunday everyone and thanks for looking. xx

In The jungle The Mighty Jungle.....
Here is my entry for the Sketch and Stash challenge. My something new was the Inktense water colour pencils used to colour in the High Hopes stamps. My something very old and unused was the backing card that I got years ago from Kanban. This card took me ages to make, but I'm quite pleased with the results.
Thanks for looking and have a nice weekend everyone xx

Lots To Do and The Sunday Stampers
Over on Lots To Do this week the challenge is 'Wings'.
This little Tim Holtz fella was still in his packet with not a sniff of ink, so out he came. The ATC background is a piece of Thomsons Local stuck onto some mountboard, and painted with lots of diluted acrylic paint.
The same for the stamped image, then he was cut out and stuck down. A little bit of German Scrap, then some water soluble pastels around the edges. Lots of clear glaze to seal it all down and job done!
The little guy also fits in nicely with the challenge on Sunday Stampers which is boys.
A lovely messy challeng, and thanks for looking xx

Sketch & Stash & Daring Cardmakers
There are so many fab challenge blogs out there and just not enough time to do them all, so I've combined a couple with this card. On Sketch & Stash you have to combine the sketch and use something either new or
unused from your stash. My new is both the Co'rdinations cardstock that I got from my local garden centre in the Christmas sale, and a Sugar Nellie stamp that I got direct from Funky Kits I like these stamps - they're cute but not too cute. I love the co'rdination card, I just cuttlebugged it then sanded with my sanding block and I'm really pleased with the result.
The challenge at Daring Cardmakers was much simpler, just use green and lots of it.
Well the base card is green, the girls dress is green and the sanded card and the sentiment are green.
I really enjoyed making this, though I must admit I think I'm losing the ability to make a card if I don't have a sketch to follow.
Thanks very much for looking. xx

My Bad Ass Cats!!
Because of all the bad weather we have been having, I have put a couple of fat balls out for the birds on a bush in the front garden.
We had a bid of sunshine today, so I opened a window and the birds were singing.
The mogs lept onto the windowsill and stared at the bird food willing them to land!!
SO..... the window is now closed again, and the cats have gone to bed lol xx
Art Creations Friday Challeng 13
A lovely background image to work with today. it put me in mind of the sea, so I decided to make a mermaid.
The acetate overlay has been stamped with a Stampcamp stamp, and a few fibres to finish.
A lovely challenge, and thanks for looking.x

Lots To Do - Marvelous Metal
First of all my apologies for my naff photograph, but I was fighting the light, I have no photographic skills, and it's just started to snow again! The challenge on Lot's to Do this week is metal, so I thought I would do an ATC.Now the only metal I have is 3 sheets that I bought 3 years ago when I was very new to crafting and had to have EVERYTHING (ok that hasn't changed) and 3 years later is still sat in the bag that I brought it home in (mm I'm starting to see a pattern emerging here) lol. Anyway... the copper sheet came out of the bag today!! I Cuttlebugged a frame, and it looked all shiny and new, so I wacked it with a hammer a few times, then painted with copper acrylic dabber and sprinkled with verdigris embossing powder. A quick blast with the heat gun and the paint bubbled nicely, and it all looked a bit older and wiser.
The chain is from Tim Holtz , and the background paper is K&Co.
I really enjoyed this challenge, and the metal said it enjoyed coming out of the drawer.
Thanks for looking xx

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Romance
I was a bit stuck this week for a 'romance' challenge, as none of my stamps were what you could call romantic. Soooooo I cut his party hat off and stuck him onto a heart lol.
The image is a bit small for a large card, but my OH thinks that small cards are only for people that you don't like that much !!
I got a bit adventurous with the ribbon, then discovered that it was a real tight fit for the nesties, but just managed to wedge 'em in!!
The backing paper is part of a DCWV kit, and the love stamp is a clear stamp that I got from USA last year - thank goodness customs didn't want to look in my suitcase lol.
A lovely challenge, and thanks for looking. xx

Tag You're It! Week 44 Sketch
Here is my tag for this weeks challenge, and I must say I really enjoyed making this. Both the backing paper and the stamp are by Crafty Individuals. The stamping has been watercoloured and it's all stuck together with lots of Mod Podge. You can gauge my mood by the amount of Mod Podge that I use, the more I use the happier I am lol.
A few Prima's , some pearls (not real unfortunately) and some white highlighter pen, and all done.
Thanks very much for looking. xx

Art Creations Friday Challenge 12
Another lovely image this week to play with. The Tim Holtz stamps are Stayzon'd to glossy card, and I have coloured in with distress inks and water. The quote is one of my favourite Rubadubadoo stamps stamped onto velum. I had to ask my son to 'flip' the image as I wanted her sitting under the tree and this was beyond my computer skills lol.
I am really enjoying these challenges as this is not the sort of thing I usually do.
Thanks very much for looking. xx
