Don't Give Me Attitude

Good evening and happy Saturday. Well the World Cup is in full swing - and it's nice and sunny for garden chores. Now I don't watch much football, or do many garden chores, but it does mean that once we've been to the gym for our swim no-one notices if I slip away into my craft room for the rest of the day. I do come out for food, just in case you were worrying that I would waste away ;-) One of my New Year resolutions was to ink up any new stamps soon after I got them rather than just letting them die of neglect, so this is what I've made.

I started by collaging some of the Art By Marlene papers by Studio Light onto my giant MDF tag. The flowers are in black and white, so I've coloured them with watercolour pens.

I've also watercoloured my lovely lady

Then just added her to my tag, along with a bit of glitter and a sentiment.
I'm entering her into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is Bright and Beautiful, and the Craft Stamper TIMI  June challenge.
Have a very happy weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Doing The Skippy Happy Thing

Good afternoon and happy Thursday. I got a new set of stamps yesterday and they were so happy that I had to go and ink them up straight away.

I started by brayering a massive tag with Fresco's.

Then added some background stamping and some circles coloured with the same paints.

These Zinski sheep are such fun - I love the one that's doing her knitting lol.
Then just added the sentiment and we're all done. These sheep make me very happy! I'm entering them into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, which is Bright and Cheerful, and the Craft Stamper TIMI June challenge which is Anything Goes.

All of the products used can be found in the store, and remember there's still time to enter our monthly challenge. Have a very happy day, I hope you're enjoying the football, and thanks very much for looking xx

Good morning and happy Friday - the weekend is almost here! We're halfway through our colour/tag challenge over at Ruber Dance, and here's my tag.

I started by painting my chippie tag with DecoArt Media paints, then stamping the texture stamps from Textured Spring. The lovely tree is from Four Seasons.

Here is our inspiration photo - I hope it makes you want to join in with us.
As always the wonderful Bibi is offering free worldwide P&P on any orders of 15 Euros and above simply by quoting SDFreeShip.

Why Not Now

Good afternoon and happy Thursday.  This is a journal page that I've made with a facebook group that I belong to. This journaling lark is all very new to me, but I did enjoy creating it, and that's what matters.

There's lots of painting and stencilling, and bits of everything really, and it was fun! I've used DecoArt Americana Premium Acrylics and some Dina Wakley and Dylusions stamps and stencils, all of which are available from Country View Crafts.
I'm entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which is 'anything but a card' and also the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge which is 'layers'
Have a wonderful week, and thanks very much for looking x

A Written Word Triptych

Good morning and happy Monday. It's time for me to share my   second project for the Country View Crafts 'written word' challenge, and this time I've made a triptych.

Before I started crafting I'd never even heard of a triptych - and I still struggle to spell it, - should that be I or Y.... ah one of each!

I started with one of the (very) rare gelli plate prints that I was happy with. All of the paints are from the DecoArt Media range. I cut the print with the Tim Holtz Bigz ATC die for two of the panels, then for the larger one I used the Eileen Hull Passport die. I love this die, it's just the perfect size for when you want something larger than an ATC, but not tooooo big!

As we are wanting 'the written word' I chose a set of stamps with lots of them - this is the Tim Holtz Sideshow set, and it's just been stamped and embossed in shiny black.

The beauty of the Passport die is that it's a scoreboard die so it will chomp through just about anything. I've used it to cut mount board for under my prints so they are much sturdier now.

And to finish off I've added a couple of hinges so it's now free-standing. I really enjoyed making this, even though I got the usual 'what's it for' comment!
There's still loads of time for you to join in with our challenge, and if you've already done so - join in again!
I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which is 'anything but a card', and the Craft Stamper TIMI June challenge.
Have a very happy day, and thank you for looking x

Live Your Dreams

Good afternoon and happy Saturday. I've been having a play with some of my new Studio Light and Dylusion stamps and a huge MDF tag that I've had for ages, and this is what I've made.

I've used DecoArt Americana Premium Acrylics and blended them on my tag. My lovely lady has been coloured with pencils, then I've gone a little mad with my white pen and sequins.
I'm entering her into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which is All Things Bright and Beautiful,  the Craft Stamper TIMI June challenge, and also the Happy Little Stampers  mixed media challenge.
Have a lovely weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Follow Your Heart

Hello again, and welcome to my second post of today.  Yes it's still the 1st of the month so it's also time for a new challenge over at Lost Coast Designs. Luckily they're based in the US, so it's still the morning over there! The new challenge is Mini Me, so we are going for the small but perfectly formed - anything smaller than a card and no that doesn't mean a small card lol. We're looking for tags, atc's, inchies, twinchies, etc. Here's my tag.

I started by stamping Carmen's Veranda's Flaming Heart onto shrink plastic and colouring it with Posca pens.

And here it is, all shrunken!

I made a rosette for it using the Tim Holtz die. I hadn't used this for years and now I remember why! It's back at the bottom of the drawer and it's staying there.

I cut a tag from stamping card and stamped away. I really like how the white centres look with the coloured borders. Maybe I'm starting to embrace white space (doubt it though) Just a few buttons and a sticker to finish off, and we're all done.
Over to you now, please join in with our Mini challenge and celebrate the tiny. Remember there are prizes!
Have a very happy June, and thanks very much for looking x

Be Yourself

Good morning and happy Friday. It's a new month, so the challenges start all over again at Country View Crafts, and this month's is a very interesting one - Teresa has chosen The Written Word'. Here's my first project (and it's very different from my usual 'stuff')

I started by gessoing a couple of dictionary pages, then stencilling through one of Olga's lovely AALL and Create stencills.

Next I added some Distress Ink  with a piece of acetate, dragging the colour to where I wanted it. I used some of the wonderful Tracy
Evans's AALL and Create stamps to add some hearts, and also a threads stamp from 49 and Market. I love to stamp this with  Distress Oxides with the stamping platform 'cos you can get lots of lovely colours and they are always in the right place!

I love these stamps of Tracy's they are just so happy and they make me happy too!
I ended up just using one of the pages. I gave it a few layers of stitching and I just need to decide where I'm going to use it. It's not my usual style at all but I do like it!
I hope you join in with our fun challenge, remember there's a £20 gift certificate up for grabs. Have a happy June, and thanks very much for looking x
