Curiouser And Curiouser

Hi and happy Wednesday! This means that it's time for another challenge over at Stampotique, and this time Corrie has chosen squares. Here's what she says.
I am very fond of circles in my work, so I want to get outside my comfort zone and use squares for a change and I would like you to join me. Have Fun!!"
So here are my squares.

I must admit these are my go-to stamps whenever I'm feeling a bit down, they never fail to cheer my up.

Everything has been stamped and coloured in various shades of grey, then stamped again and squares cut out and coloured.
The sentiment has been stamped with my new favourite ABC's
I've also used
Rabbit and

Candy Stripe Girl

Hi, this week the challenge at Stampotique has been chosen by the lovely Sam, who is a fan of spots and stripes. Here's what she has to say.
"I love anything spotty or with stripes and I also love stripes but the two can be difficult to combine. So my challenge for you this week is to use Spots and Stripes together in your creations, Have fun"
I think we all feel a bit like this at times - I must admit most of the time I'm quite happy to be swimming against the tide lol.
My spots have been made with a stencil and paint, and the stripes are washi tape and Jo's lovely Kisses stamp.
Girl With Heart Purse is wearing her best stripy dress.

I would like to thank everyone who has sent messages and comments for Neil. He's still doing his best grumpy cat impression, but he's starting to feel better.

I'd like to enter my candy stripe girl into the That's Crafty challenge which is circles.
Have a fun weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

An Update

I know that I have been an awful blogger and have been MIA for quite a while, buy my OH Neil has been quite poorly. I'm happy to report that after MANY hospital visits he's now had his op and is back home again (and driving me mad) lol.
Hopefully things should settle down now and I can get back to crafting and blog visiting (between work and playing nurse Ratchet)
Have a good day everyone xx

How You Doin

Hi, it's time for my second piece for the 'make your own background' challenge at Country View Crafts. Meet Joey and Rachel aka Winston and Lulu.

The background has been made with Dylusion stencils and sprays. Then I drew the border with an acrylic block and doodled inside.
Winston and Lulu have been painted with watercolours.
Doesn't he look dapper in his tux. These two remind me of Joey and Rachel from Friends for some reason, so it seemed fitting to have Joey's catchphrase for the sentiment.
The words were stamped directly on the card (eek) with the Dylusion stamps.
I then covered the journal cover with DecoArt black gesso - I love this, one coat will cover anything! I cut around the frame and stuck it all down on the cover and job done.
So time for you now to join in with our challenge. Hope you like mine, and thanks very much for looking xx

I Love You For Your Brains....

Good Morning, and welcome to February. It's now officially the month of romance and all things pink and flowery (shoot me now lol). It's also my turn to pick the theme at Country View Crafts and I would like you to make your own backgrounds. So no designer paper allowed I want the inks and the paints and all things messy :-)

I must admit I love making my own backgrounds, it really is my favourite part. Saying that I have hundreds (if not thousands) of sheets of designer papers.

I made my background with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics, a Brett Weldele stamp plate, and a Stampotique stamp.

I used the same paints through a stencil for the blood splatters.
I stamped my romantic zombie on watercolour paper and painted him with watercolours. I have to confess I'm not a zombie fan, I've never seen a film or a TV programme with them in, but I do like these stamps, a LOT.
So Zombie now in place...

I stencilled a red heart, then stamped the sentiment. This is about as romantic as I get!
I hope you can join in with our challenge - it doesn't have to be for Valentines, or feature zombies, just make your own background.
Thanks very much for looking, and have a great month x
