The Angels Want To Wear My Red Shoes

Good morning and a very happy Friday. Today I'm over at the Ink Art Designs Stamping Playground with some quite (very) old Dylusion stamps. Dot has recently added to her Dylusion range so I thought it was a good time to blow the dust off some of my stamps.

This is quite a big piece, it's a 10x10 inch hardboard Bind It All cover.
I started by painting it black. My reasoning was that it was a lot easier to then stencil in white.  If I went wrong, black can cover up white, but it's much harder to cover up black with white.
I stencilled the edges first, trying my best to keep the pattern going, then I did the insides with some nice bright colours.

These are the stamps and stencils that I used. Lulu (the cat) doesn't have any legs, so I borrowed some from Little Lulu! She does seem to be giving Winston a bit of a look, so I thought the sentiment went well!

As I was choosing the ink for her shoe colour I was thinking of the Elvis Costello song, hence my post title.
Dot has a fab range of Dylusion products here in the store - don't worry, they're not all as old as mine! I have to admit I love the quilting ones, so I can feel an update coming over me.
Have a lovely day whatever you are doing, take care, and thanks so much for looking x

Never Fit In!

Good morning and happy Sunday. It's time for a brand new challenge over at Country View Crafts, and this time it's The Eyes Have It.
It's ages since I've used my fun Dylusion stamps, so I was very
happy to have a play with these again.
I started by cutting a huge tag with a Tonic die, then adding lots of Dylusion paints and my go-to Izink texture pastes. Now that Seth Apter has joined Izink I'm hoping that there will be lots more pastes.
I've added lots more stamping, and crackle, and just about anything else you can imagine!

Next, I stamped, coloured, and cut out my girl and the sentiment. She's been coloured with Posca pens, so she's nice and bright. I decided that in honour of the new challenge she should wear a hat, so I've given her one from Bee Crafty.

Because of the size of it, I can now use my tag as a journal cover, so watch this space - there will be more!

I hope you like it, and that you join in with our fun challenge. Have a great weekend, and thanks so much for looking xx

Beside The Seaside, Beside The Sea

Good morning and happy Wednesday. It's a new month, so lots of new challenges will be starting, and Corrie has picked a fun one for Country View Crafts - she's chosen Sun, Sea, and Sand - a Summer or holiday themed project. Now in the UK Summer doesn't guarantee sun, but what an amazing year we've had so far, and I think there's still more to come!

A couple of months ago I went to a doodling class as it was something that I just couldn't do. I'll never be the worlds best doodler, but at least it doesn't terrify me now lol. I cut a huge black tag then doodled a border with my white pen.
Then I stamped my lovely lady, then stamped her again and embossed her costume in sparkly red embossing powder. This is how I look in my beach kit - oops my Pinocchio nose just hit the computer screen! Next I had to find her a head - these are Dylusion stamps lol.
When everything was finished I stuck it to the back of a chipboard tag - I'll show you the front later in the month!
I hope you join in with our fun challenge - remember you could win a voucher to spend in the store.
Have a lovely August, and thanks very much for looking x
