DecoArt Play Time

Well rugby's back which means that Neil doesn't notice if I disappear for an hour or two (or three or four) so that's it, I'm in my conservatory and playing!

This is a piece of thick chipboard slightly larger than A4. I wanted to make my own art journal so this is the front cover - there's nothing to go in it yet lol.

It's all made with Deco Art paints and mediums, and Andy Skinner stencils, stamps, and techniques.
We have rusted modeling paste.
Some stamping and crackling.
More rust and Metalic Lustres on Mr Monopoly Guy.

I really enjoyed the peeled paper technique.
I spent hours doing this, it was such fun and I just kept on adding bits - due to the highlights (repeats) of the rugby, no-one noticed!
My blogging friend Rachel is hosting the challenge at Stamps and Stencils so I'm entering this over there.
Have a wonderful week, and thanks very much for looking x

Just Like Buses They Come In Threes

Good morning and happy weekend. Today it's all about the threes! I'm entering a trio of challenges, with my trio of tags.
PaperArtsy have challenged us to use sprays, Stamps and Stencils want to see three of a kind, and The Mirror Crack'd have gone with a triptych theme.

I started by making my own spray paint with these Fresco Paints.
It gave a mixture of a fine mist and some heavy drips which I really like.
These are the backgrounds stamped with Darcy's stamps and coloured with Prisma pencils.
The stars have been stencilled with silver embossing paste.
Brian was then stamped and coloured.
Then Pretty Flamingo...
And finally Action Kitty. I really must stop giving my stamps names (or maybe not)
So here's my sprayed, 3 of a kind, triptych - I wish I could get a better photograph but we've not had sun for days.
Edit, just scanned it - much better colours now :-)

Sorry to be short and sweet but so much to do and so little time!

Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x

Sing Me A Song

I had a proper play over the Easter weekend with my PanPastels. I've had them for ages now, but have never really gone beyond the dust and dab stage. This is what I came up with.
I wanted to try some stamping and colouring, so I started by putting some blues and greens down on my watercolour paper, then stenciling through my Paper Artsy stencils.
Some more stenciling, then lots of stamping using PA stamps, Versamark and PanPastels.
Next I wanted to try colouring, so I scraped a bit of the PP's into their lids and added a little water.
My silver and gold had had a rough time in transit so had quite a lot of breakage. I used some of this to make quite a thick paste.
They paint on really nicely, and the metallic have a beautiful shimmer, just like a real metallic paint.
As I was in an experimental mood I wanted to tint some Grunge Paste rather than colouring it when it was dry.
A little paint goes a long way lol.
Apparently it's just like icing a cake (no of course I can't ice cakes!) I just spread it on with a palate knife then made 'bark like' marks with a cocktail stick. I added Onxyite Treasure Gold when it was dry.
You can see the painted PP's here.
And the metallic ones...
Then the sun decided to come out so I took another photograph just 'cos I could.
I'm entering this into the Pan Pastel challenge, Spring Colours,
Paper Artsy which is Grunge Paste,
That's Crafty gold and silver,
and the new challenge blog Stamps and Stencils anything goes, and
Art Journal Journey where we need to illustrate a poem or quotation.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x
