Once A Badass

Good morning and a very happy Saturday! Here's my second spooky piece for Lost Coast Designs' annual 31 Days Of Halloween event.

I started by making a background in Halloween colours. I know it's a bit rough but it will all be OK in the end lol.

Then I stamped the wonderful Skulls And Bones Background and embossed it in black. This is such a fun stamp!

He's such a cutie isn't he, this is Evil Eye!

Here are the stamps that I've used

Evil Eye and Carmen's Veranda

I hope you're joining us every day over on the Portal for inspiration from all of my teamies.

Take care and have a spooky week! x

Rise and Shine!

Good morning and a very happy Friday. Today I'm over on the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity with my second project for our Think Pink challenge.

I started by making a background on my gelli plate using inks and Brusho's. You can see the gaps on the print where I haven't cleaned my gelli plate but I quite like these, so they're staying lol (and no, I still haven't cleaned my plate!)
I added some stamping (in pink of course) using my new 'Pieces of Caligraphy' stamp plate, and added some stencilling and some embossing powder in the corners.
Then I inked up and stamped my tags.
I sewed my background and tags onto a journal page, and quite liked how it looked, but it still needed finishing off....
So I added some (pink) texture paste through a stencil to tie in the background with my image and sentiment. I also photographed it in the 10 minute daylight window that we had! This gives a much better idea of the true colours.

These are the stamps that I've used
Please join in with our fun challenge and link up on the Portal. As we are a stamping challenge please remember, no digis allowed!
Have a very happy day whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

May Your Christmas Sparkle

Good morning and a very Merry Christmas! I hope that Santa has visited and that Rudolph has eaten his carrot!

Today I'm over at the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity with my sparkly Christmas card for our Gnomes challenge.

I started by making my base. This is one piece of 12x12 card with the different coloured dots on either side.

And these are some of our fab new gnomes (though gnomes aren't just for Christmas!) I cut my Santa gnome twice as I wanted to layer him up.

Here he is, coming down the gnomey mushroom chimney
And all layered up and glittery.

Well would you believe it, the card fits perfectly into the envelope that I made last time lol.

For the card, I've used

and for the envelope

That's me signing off for 2021, so have a very merry Christmas, and a happy and healthy new year. I'll see you all again in 2022 - PLEASE let it be a good one!

Evil Eye has a bit of an attitude problem!

Whereas the Dancing Skeletons are much more cheerful!

I'll soon be able to show you what I'm doing with all of these panels, but not just yet!

Today's stamps are

Lost Coast

Dancing Skeletons

Evil Eye

Old Typewriter Alpha

Spray Webbing

Drips   and

Carmen's Veranda

Witches Go Riding

For more Halloween inspiration don't forget to visit the Portal as there's a new post there every day throughout October.

The Cutest Of Critters

Good morning and a very happy Saturday. Today I'm back over on the Lost Coast Designs Portal To Creativity with my trio of cuties for our Critters challenge.

I'm not normally one for 'cute' stamps, but these mice are just so sweet, and I reckon that with the right sentiment they will have real attitude!

I started by cutting my Rolodex cards onto supersmooth card and stamping my mice in brown. It's quite unusual for me to make one layer projects, but that is what I wanted for my meeces.

Then I added the sentiments where I could. Some of them are too big to be added whole so will be stamped and chopped up later.

The mice have been coloured with alcohol markers. I knew that I wanted to put a watercolour wash over the top, so I heat embossed the sentiments.

I've just added some colour by inking up a stencil, spraying with water, and laying on the page.

They can definitely smell cake!
She's my favourite. I can just imagine her with a rolling pin in her hand if Mr Mouse comes home late from the mousy pub! I know there's a bit of mousy stereotyping there but I'm very old school lol.

These are the stamps that I've used
Mother Goose Mice by Lost Coast and

Carmen's Veranda clear stamps

You still have a full week to join in with our challenge and show us your critters. They can be as cute or as badass as you like, they just need to be stamped!

Take care, have a very happy weekend, and thanks so much for looking xx

Hey Soul Sister!

Good morning and a very happy Thursday! The 15th of the month is always time for a new challenge over on the Lost Coast Designs Portal To Creativity  and this time it's Sentimentally Yours, where the sentiment has to be prominent.

Skinny cards are all the rage at the moment, and as I'm always at the cutting edge of craft (yeah I'm SO not) I decided to make one of those. For those of us who have been crafting for a little while, these are what we used to call DL cards.
To start, I made my background using the Large Chicken Wire Background stamp and oxide inks.

I do love this fabulous 50's Girl. She's just been stamped with black Versafine and heat dried. Then I coloured with a Distress pen, cut her out and clear embossed her.

This sentiment is the story of my life. I can (and do) fall over my own shadow. I trip myself up, fall over my own feet, and walk into anything within a 3-foot radius! The Carmen's Veranda clear stamp is called Flip Flops, and as you can see, it stamps beautifully.

I have to photograph what I've used, otherwise I forget, but here it all is!

I hope you like her, and that you join in with us over on the Portal. There's the chance to win some Lost Coast dollars to spend in the store. Just remember to use real stamps (no digis allowed) and make sure that your sentiment is prominent.

Have a lovely day, and thanks so much for looking x

It's All In The Cards

Good morning and a very happy Thursday. Today I'm over on the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity with my piece for our fun Numbers challenge.

I started with three huge cards from my deck, these are about 8 inches tall.

For my numbers, I used a couple of Lost Coast borders, Bingo, and Numbers and just cut them out and layered them.

Now it's time for the gnomes! This is the Ace of gnomes, Book Gnome, and I've teamed him with the Carmen's Veranda sentiment Power Of Coffee.

Next, it's the two of gnomes, Sunglasses Gnome which I've put together with Full Ass.

And finally the three of gnomes with Three Gnomes and The Ass Family

These are the stamps that I used,

Bingo

Numbers

Book Gnome

Sunglasses Gnome

3 Gnomes

Power of Coffee

Ass Family

These were great fun to make, I hope you like them and that you join in with our challenge.

Take care and have a very happy day x

Starry Starry Night

Good morning and a very happy Monday. Today I'm over on the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity with my second piece for our Things With Wings challenge, and I've made a journal page.

I knew that I wanted to use Steampunk Icarus as my main image, and in a Starry Night homage.

I started by stamping and embossing the circles from Leonardo Accessories in yellow, but they turned out to be a sort of burnt orange. The Cracked Grass and Sky was embossed in white. My journal is textured watercolour so it can take loads of water, which is my next stage.

Then dipped and dried (many many times) in the blue distress inks. They resisted the ink beautifully, but I wasn't a fan of the colour of the circles so I stamped them again, cut them out and added them to my background.

I added some yellow Portfolio pastels, and
was much happier with this, so now on to the main images!

I collaged some book pages and gave it a coat of gesso then I stamped my row of houses onto it using the stamping platform.

And it was an epic fail! The texture was too uneven for all of the stamp to hit it. That made perfect sense after I'd spent an hour of my life that I would never get back doing it!

So, on to plan B! Stamped onto my super smooth card and coloured with Distress Inks. Then my favourite - fussy cutting - shoot me now lol.

This is my leading man - Steampunk Icarus who today has flown too close to the moon! The moon is actually the centre part of the Goth Shrine.

I typed up the sentiment on my computer and added to the page.

These are the stamps that I've used. They are all by Lost Coast, and can be found here.

And there we are, all done! It's not quite as it was in my head, but then again I'm no Leonardo! I hope you join in with our challenge, just feature something with wings! Have a great day, and thanks so much for looking x
