Doing The Happy Dance

Good morning, happy Wednesday, and Happy New Year! Well how can you follow a new year and a new decade, other than to announce a new challenge at Country View Crafts! Our first challenge of the year has been chosen by Monika, and it's LOVE. Here's what she has to say.
This month I will be your hostess and I chose the theme LOVE but in a broader sense. I don't think about only romantic love. You can love your mother or father, your sister or brother, your daughter or your son, your dog or your cat. You can even love your job, your hobby or your life! Any love is welcome here :-)
Here's the birthday card that I made for my sister at the end of last year.

I started by making a painty background with a gelli plate and some DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics, then added some stamping.

The PaperArtsy Zinski sheep have also beens stamped onto gelli prints and cut out. My Trish Lattimer girl has been stamped onto fabric, I think she looks rather fetching in polka dots.

I also made some red hearts for my background.

And here we are, all done. My sister loved it, and I hope you do too. A very happy new year to you all, my crafty resolution this year is to use up some of my stash - yes even the good 'best' stuff. What is your resuloution this year?
Have a brilliant January, and thanks so much for looking x

Seeing Stars

Good morning and happy Friday! I'm back today sharing my second card for the Country View Crafts 'Stars' challenge.

I started by making my background and some tags with Distress Inks and Oxides

I then cut a stencil from acetate using various sizes of stars.

I always put masking tape around my home made stencils so that it gives me a bit more room to play with (and they are easier to find as acetate can be a bit tricky!)

I just gessoed through the stencils on my background and tags.

Then added some text with a stampotique stamp and some white embossing powder.

These are Trish Lattimer stamps that I've coloured and paper pieced.
And my favourite Paper Artsy 'happy birthday' stamp. You see this scrap was just the right size phew!.

Now it was just down to putting it all together.

Until I made another project that involved a Tim Holtz die for cutting out a starry background. I thought that the left over stars looked perfect here.

My paper pieced girls.

I hope that you like it, and that you also join in with our challenge. Remember there is a £20 voucher to be won to spend in the store.
I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which is Stars.
Have a very happy weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Something Wonderful

Hello and Happy Tuesday. I've needed cheering up today, what with the Man Flu, so I've gone in search of happy.

...and I found it with Trish's gorgeous stamp.

I started with some Dina Wakley paints and Creative Expressions embossing paste in silver and gold.

I love this stamp, it's Whimsy Girl 4 and I've only had her a couple of days so I'm really pleased to get her used straight away.

I'm entering her into the That's Crafty silver and gold challenge.
Have a great week, and thanks very much for looking x
