Happy Mother's Day

Good morning, a very happy Sunday, and happy Mother's Day! How do you all feel after getting up an hour early?!!! Happy Mother's Day mum, you're losing an hours sleep - the gift that just keeps on giving. They wouldn't get away with that on Father's Day!!

Here's a card that I've made using the fabulous Independent Women collection..

It's been a while since I've been in my craft room as we've been on holiday, so it was really nice to get in and have a play.

This was quite an unusual card for me to make as it was pretty much a 'what's on your table already' card. That sounds so much better that an 'I couldn't be bothered to tidy up last time' card.

I started by printing out my background paper and adding some random stamping in the colours that I would be using.

Next, I cut and layered some tags. These are sooo pretty!

Then I stamped and fussy cut some flowers on scraps from the papers that were left over from my last project.

After I played around with the composition for a while, I ended up with this! I always have to photograph it when I'm happy with the layout and I still never get everything in the same place.

I love the stamped vellum on top of my tag. You can still see the original colours and it's a nice way of adding a sentiment.

The stamping ties the background and focal points together.

Such pretty flowers! I coloured the clear gems with alcohol pens to match the paper.

As always the collection can be found in both digital and A4 formats.

I hope you like my card and have a very happy Mother's Day. Take care and thanks for looking xx

I Shall Wear Purple

Good morning and a very happy Sunday. Today I'm sharing a Diagonal Twist and Pop card, made with beautiful papers from the Independent Women collection from  Relatively Thoughtful, and a tutorial from Paul Lang-Ford (Papercrafting With Paul) I'll put all the links at the end of this post.

The card is just shy of 8x8, so it folds flat(ish) and fits into an 8x8 envelope. Inside there is a surprise....

These are the lovely ladies from the Independent Women Authors kit, and are trimmed to3x4.

I've teamed the collection with some chipboard from the Stamperia Provence collection.

I think that the collections work perfectly together.

And the rather nifty mechanism means that it all folds away. It really has got mantlepiece appeal.

As always the collection is available in both digital and A4 formats.

Have a wonderful Sunday whatever you are doing, and thanks so much for looking x

Tag Along

Good morning and a very happy Sunday.  Today I'm sharing a BIG card that I made with the Independent Women collection from Relatively Thoughtful.

I'm going through a bit of a tag phase at the moment, so here's a few more.

I started with a sheet of this beautiful purple card and added some stamping and paint spatters.

Then I cut some layers. It doesn't matter that there's not a full circle of yellow as this will be covered up.

I also matted some of the tags from the cut-apart sheet.

And dyed my seam binding to match. It's the first time I've used Oxides to die the binding. I really like the opaque coverage it gives - I had yellow fingers for days!

I also chose some pieces from the Stamperia Province chipboard collection. These coordinate perfectly with the Independent Women papers.

Sooo pretty!

The collection can be found here in Sally's store

Happy Mother's Day

Good morning and a very happy Mother's Day!

Here's the card I made for my mum with the beautiful Independent Women papers from Relatively Thoughtful.

Don't these look fabulous when combined with Stamperia's Provence die cuts.

I started by choosing my papers (I love the pop of yellow against the purples). Then I cut and sewed my layers.
Then I cut out my images from a cut-apart sheet and inked all the edges. I wanted to make some flowers to go with the die cuts.

I gave all the cutouts a coating of clear embossing powder to make them a little sturdier, together with a little bit of fine glitter. Then I layered up my flowers.

This is how it looks when closed.

And this is the inside.

And the inside of the inside lol.

These panels are from a cut-apart sheet in the Stamperia Provence collection. These are also available in the Relatively Thoughtful store.

And this is how my flowers turned out.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend, I shall be venturing into my still chilly craft room while Neil falls asleep in front of the Grand Prix clutching the remote as if his life depended on it!

Take care and have a happy, crafty week x

An Independent Women Twist & Pop Card

Good morning and a very happy Sunday!

Today I'm really happy to be sharing a Twist & Pop card made with the beautiful new Independent Women Collection from Relatively Thoughtful.

This collection coordinates perfectly with the Stamperia Provence range and the great thing is, Sally now has this available in her store.

I started by choosing my images for the twist & pop mechanism. The postcards were perfect for this, just the right size. I used the cover sheet to mat and layer my images - never waste a thing! As it turned out poor old Amelia didn't make it as I put my glue in the wrong place lol.

I also needed some panels for the front cover and the inside. I've used a really old punch to make my lacy layers. The sentiment is also from the cover sheet.

These are the tags that I've made for the outside from the postcard cut-apart sheet.

And this is the inside! So many inspirational women - I think Queen Victoria was going through her unamused stage!

The whole thing folds flat(ish) ready for posting.

As always there is new inspiration every day on our social pages.
