Some A-Moo-Sing New Stamps from Rubber Dance

Good morning and happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend. It's time for my second post for Rubber Dance and this is also my last one as a member of the design team.  I would like to thank Bibi, Susanne, and the rest of the team for a fab two years.
Susanne has recently brought out some fun new stamps, and these are what I'm using here.

Aren't these cows hillarious - and so cute. The whole set is called From Moo To You

I started by making some backgrounds with Distress Oxides then die cutting them into tag shapes.

Then some stencilling with Oxides and gesso.

These are the new Rubber Dance Grungy Borders and Grungy Stuff stamps and they are fabulous!

Then I added some die cuts, and that's it, backgrounds all done.

As well as buying the whole set you can buy each cow individually - this one is Christmas Cow.

 This is Cute Cow.
And this is Birthday Cow.
There's still loads of time left for you to join in with the colour/theme challenge, so head on over to the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge   https://www.facebook.com/groups/311557542913461/- this month is 'Anything Goes' so what could be easier.
I'm also entering my tags into the Stamping Sensations challenge All Things Bright and Beautiful.
Have a fun weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Something Old, Something New

Good morning and happy Friday, welcome to the weekend!
I'm back with my second project for the Rubber Dance colour/theme challenge, and this time I've gone for the theme, which is Something New.

My something new is Yupo paper, I know it's been around for ages, but I've never actually used it.

I started by using 3 colours on a felt pad and really like how it looks.

Then I dropped lots of different colours onto another sheet - I'm really liking this now. The biggest difference that I could see to glossy card is that the inks take much longer to dry, and that if you give it a blast with a heat gun the paper can warp.

Then I stamped away using different colour of Stazon. I cut some black card with a Memory Box strip die to give them a postage stamp look. This took AGES, but I do like how they look.

Then I stamped and ribbled some kraft card as a background for my 'postcards'
And we're all done. I've added them to the background with push pins.
Don't forget there's still time for you to join in with the challenge over at the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge  https://www.facebook.com/groups/311557542913461/  I hope to see you over there.

Roll Up, Roll Up

'Cos the circus is back in town! Good morning and happy Monday. Can you believe that we're half way through January already, it seems like this year is going to go as quickly as last! As you know, Rubber Dance is combining the colour and theme challenges into an either/or/both, and this months theme is 'Vintage' I had to put on my 'big girl pants' for this one, but here's what I've made.

I started by covering a chipboard album cover with some Graphic 45 paper and gessoing over to knock it back a little.

Then I grunged it up a bit with lots of rusting paste and crackle medium. It's looking quite vintage now - or should I say old and messy!

The lovely Elephant has been stamped three times as I wanted to dress him up a little. An elephant should always look his best in public!

And here he is! The words are from the same paper pad, and I've given him a ball to balance on. To say I wasn't really sure what I was going to do for this challenge, I'm really happy with how it turned out, and they don't call it a challenge for nothing!

These are our lovely colours, and you have until the 31st January to join in.

All of our stamps can be found here, and as always you can have them winging their way to you with free P&P by quoting SDFreeShip on all orders of 15 Euros and above.

I hope you join in with our challenges, and have a very happy January. Thanks for looking xx

Hello There

Good morning and happy Sunday. It's time for a new challenge over at Rubber Dance, and this month it's to use an animal stamp. So here's everyone favourite giraffe.

This is the first time that I've attempted mail art, but it won't be the last as it was such fun. All of the paints that I've used are from the DecoArt Media Line.

I thought it would be easier to 'unstick' the envelope then I wouldn't need to wait for one side to dry. Any other time when I don't want an envelope to fall apart they do so without trying, but this time oh no! Four envelopes later I finally took one apart without tearing it. It's been very carefully (not!) painted with fluid acrylics and tinting base.

I've added some stamping now with Grungy Swirls and Round in Circles, and also lots of stencilling using the same colours as the background.

I've stamped Giraffe onto a dictionary page and coloured him in yellow fluid acrylic.

3rd Row Textured Houses have been stamped directly on the envelope and a bit of colour added. The 'surprise inside' stamp is from Happy Birthday.

And here's the back! - yes, it did stick back together lol. There's more Textured Houses, different circles from Pick A Number, and the SWAK is from Mail Art.
I've really enjoyed making this, and if I can get the envelopes to let go I shall be making more!
Please join in with our challenge, and add an animal (or 2 or 3)

When you visit the shop, don't forget to quote SDFreeShip for free worldwide P&P on orders of 15 Euros and above.

I'm entering my envelope into the Craft Stamper TIMI 'anything goes' challenge.

Have a fun week. and thanks very much for looking x

Come Fly With Me

Good morning and happy Tuesday. It's time for our new themed challenge over at Rubber Dance and this month it's 'embossing'.

I can't imagine a project that doesn't contain embossing of some sort. When I first started crafting it was heat embossing that made me want to give it a go, and I still love seeing that powder turn shiny! Here's what I've made.

I started out by die cutting several of the Tim Holtz pocket watches, then pushing out the middles of some of them. Take no notice of the green one - it ended up in the big blue filling cabinet under my desk!

Next I squidged Versamark over my bottom copy and gave it a good coat of UTEE - mostly platinum, with a sprinkle of red and green. Ah a squidge and a sprinkle, it sounds a bit like my baking.
Stamp at the ready, inked and ready to go when the UTEE is all melted.

I love this stamp, it's called La Mappa and it looks great, even when it's er upside down! I could have just re-heated it and stamped again, but then there would be swirls of black ink in the embossing, and to be fair you wouldn't have know it was upside down if I hadn't told you ;-)

Anyway, moving on from the upsidedown-ness, I cut and embossed a piece of TSS metal for the frame, and sanded it back. I also stamped and heat embossed Phone Home and Flying Ink Bottle.

Phone Home and the large bee from Buzzy Bees have been stamped onto shrink plastic (one of my very favourite things), coloured, and cut out.

And we're all done! 'Fly' has been cut out of the same metal sheet - I think I must have been having a bit of a green mood which is strange as it's not a colour I use that often.

Please join in with our challenge, any type of embossing is good, folders, paste, whatever.

I'm also entering my flying ladies into the That's Crafty 'anything but a card' challenge.

As always if you need more rubber, quote SDFreeship for orders of 15 Euros's or over for free worldwide P&P.
Thank you very much for looking, and have a fun week x
