Hearts For DecoArt

Good morning and happy Tuesday. A while ago I had a play with a canvas, some moulds, and just about every piece of DecoArt Media Line that I possess. This is what I made.

I started by making my plaster of Paris hearts. These are quite detailed moulds and I was very happy with how they turned out.

While they were drying I prepared my canvas. I've used doilies, and DecoArt Crackle paste through a stencil. I've also stuck various bits and bobs like sand balls and tiny beads.

When the crackle paste was dry I added lots of watery washes of DecoArt Media Paints. I then decided that multi coloured worked better in my head, so I would need a plan B. I brought out all my shades of purple and the Quin colours for their transparency.

Much nicer! You can still see the colours underneath but it has a much more coherent feel.

I love how the watery paints have pooled.

I've used gold Metallic Lustre over the heart, it gives it a wonderful shine.

So does the silver.

Stamping and embossing on tissue paper.

The sentiment has also been stamped and embossed on tissue paper, and a few sequins added to finish off. I was lucky enough to have this included in Craft Stamper magazine this month, so I'm a very happy bunny.

I'm entering this into the Mixed Media Monthly challenge Altered Embellishments.
Have a great week, and thanks very much for looking x

A Very Merry Un-Birthday To You!

This week it's the turn of France to choose the Stampotique challenge theme, and she's gone with Un-Birthdays.
We often expect cards on our birthday. How about surprising someone with an unbirthday card? With or without Alice in Wonderland inspiration, make a happy unbirthday card!
The background is from a technique that I saw in Craft Stamper last month that I really liked. It was all about using circle templates and inks so I tried it out.
Alice, Mad Hatter, Rabbit and Tree have all been stamped, coloured, and cut out.
The sentiment is computer generated.
As always there are very few rules, so I hope you will join in.
MPORTANT REMINDER:
Please read ALL RULES on the linkz page before linking your creation.
If you didn't follow the rules posted, you may have been deleted.
Feel free to relink your creation with the correct information for a chance to win.
I'm also linking this to the Craft Stamper stencil challenge.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking.

Fragile Papers For Paper Artsy

The challenge this fortnight at PaperArtsy is to use fragile papers - well we all have lots of paper don't we, so this is mine.

I started with an 8x8 piece of grayboard, and put some Grunge paste through various Paper Artsy stencils. I then sloshed on some Fresco Paints.
Added some stamping from various sets
The flowers are made with old book pages, and tissue paper that's been painted in Fresco's.
The GP stenciling has been rubbed over with Treasure Gold, and I've edged it all with TH tissue tape.
This was a real fun challenge, it took ages to make but that's cos I was enjoying myself, and I'm sticking to my resolution of only making what I enjoy. I go to work to pay the bills (mainly crafting ones) and I just craft for fun
I'm also entering it into the challenge at The Mirror Crack'd which is to use stencils, and the Craft Stamper  Take a Stamp challenge.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x
