I Know I'm Late But I'm Coming To The Party

Good morning, you can certainly tell that it's the lead up to a Bank Holiday, 'cos it's SO cold and grey that Neil decided it would be a good time to strip the walls and decorate. So while most people are having a relaxing weekend we're knee deep in wallpaper paste - somebody save me!! Anyhoo Tim Holtz has made an amazing tag for April, and I was determined to play along, so here's mine.
I pretty much had the ingredients so followed Tim's instructions 'cos it was the techniques that I wanted to learn. I was so happy just after stage one - who knew that tissue tape, Distress Paint and Distress Ink looked so wonderful together. That was the problem, I didn't know. I've got the stuff but don't know how to use it all properly, so I've finally got around to signing up for Tim's Creative Chemistry! I know everyone did it years ago but I always said I didn't have time, bla bla but that bit of paint, ink and water did it, so I'll be making lots of tags (in between making cups of tea and finding wallpaper rollers etc)
The ladies over at A Vintage Journey are asking for Spring Flowers as the theme for the challenge this time, so while I'm against killing birds with stones, it did seem a good idea to combine the two :-)

Here's my pinecone flowers edged with a bit of white paint. The butterfly has also been splattered with the paint.
I've also been playing with some crinoline that I got from the Funky Junkie ages ago and never took out of the bag.
It's really difficult to get a decent photograph, but I'm very happy with what I've learned and can't wait to start on the 101.
Have a very happy Easter, and thanks for looking x
Edit thanks very much Jenny for pointing me in the direction of Frilly and Funky where the challenge this time is Flights of Fancy x

Be A Good One

It's been a few month's since I've entered the Tim Holtz  tags challenge so I was really pleased to get this one finished in the correct month lol.
Being as it's February's we still have a lurve theme going on. As usual I don't have most of the 'ingredients' so there's a bit of improv here (which I quite like)
I've followed Tim's directions 'cos he seems to know what he's talking about (just joking the guys a genius) I like the way that at each stage you think 'this is awful, should I bin it now' but then it all comes together at the end.
I didn't have the Tim stencil or stamp, but I do have a full house on the inks. Some things I just buy as soon as they come out :-)
The stamp is by Artistic Outpost, which I've highlighted with a page pebble.
The trim is washi tape that I though fitted in nicely with the stencil.
I was in a messy mood, so I made a love potion, and blinged up a piece of hessian ribbon with ink and embossing powder. It literally took me 2 days to get my fingers clean :-)
This was great fun to make and I now know how far one drop of re-inker goes!
I'm also entering this into the Artistic Outpost Feb referral. Thanks very much for looking and enjoy your weekend xx
