A Regency Romance Floating Gatefold Card

Good morning and a very happy Sunday. I'm so happy to be sharing this floating gatefold card made with the beautiful new "A Regency Romance "collection from Relatively Thoughtful. This is such a fabulous collection, I could have made the card 10 times over and still be spoiled for choice for which papers to use!

I made this style of card last year using a tutorial by Paul Lang-Ford, and my original blog post and links to Paul's tutorial can be found here.
I started by making my base card. This is such a big base, perfect for displaying these gorgeous papers, but it still folds flat and fits in a 7x5 envelope.
Then I chose my wonderful images and cut my layers.
I always use wet glue for my cards and this is my favourite. I like to ink the edges of my papers - it covers a multitude of sins (and wonky cutting out lol)
This is my card opened out to its full extent. It definitely has mantlepiece appeal.
Just look at these gorgeous images. This is such a romantic collection, perfect for Valentine's Day/ weddings/ anniversaries.
There are also sheets of cut-apart sentiments.
Such stunning images.
We all need this guy in our lives (but I would definitely settle for Colin Firth as my Mr Darcy)
There are also sheets of cut-aparts of beautiful frames and images.
And then it all closes up to fit in a 7x5 envelope.

As always there is lots of inspiration every day on our social pages. Please pop across to
The collection can be found here in the Relatively Thoughtful store in both digital and paper formats.
Thanks so much for looking, and enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you are doing x

  2. How romantic Sue, beautiful papers I've never seen before. Fabulous images and co-ordinating vintage blue, they all really capture the essence of days gone by, and true love.. Laughing at the Colin Firth comment hee hee what a long queue that would be :D A very thoughtful card creation. How amazing those papers would be in a journal.
Thanks for sharing this delightful card Sue..
    Hope you are keeping well?
    Hugs Tracey x
