Ho Ho Ho

Good morning and happy Wednesday. I've been making some more Christmas cards (yes I did say the C word again) for the latest PaperArtsy 'stamping platform' challenge.

I started by cutting some gelli plate prints to the size that I needed.

Then I arranged the stamps on my  Tim Holtz platform and stamped a couple of times.

Once the ink was dry, I coloured them with Fresco paints while the print was still on the platform. Luckily these dry really quickly, so  as soon as the paint was dry I re-stamped to add the detail back in.

Then you just pop in another background print and repeat. Yay three more cards for the Christmas pile! These were fun to make and I guess I'm now officially in Christmas mode.
Have a happy week, and thanks very much for looking x

Only 65 To Go...

Yes that's right, only 65 days 'till Christmas Day! Hey don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger lol. Seriously I haven't done a thing about Christmas yet so I thought it was time I made a start!
I don't normally do batch making as I get really bored doing the same thing, but only 65 days and all that AND PaperArtsy have a new challenge which is to use a stamping platform.
I love my Tim Holtz platform, for me it means no more spoiled projects where I've miss stamped something. This time however I was going to use it for batch stamping. I've had some backgrounds made for ages from when I was playing with my marbling inks, so I cut them all to size, and chose my stamp set.

I chose these bold sentiments to go on my colourful backgrounds.

I even stamped the envelopes, all in exactly the same place - thank you Tim!
All stamped and stuck and waiting to be sewn into place.
I love these happy cards, and I shall definitely be making some more. The only problem is Neil has been telling me to do this for years, and I would hate for him to be right (again)!!
As I'm typing this, the sun is blasting through, and it's a beautiful day - just right for making Christmas cards!
Have a very happy weekend and thanks very much for looking x

Bobbing and Weaving

Good afternoon and happy Wednesday. I've been having another play for the PaperArtsy 'Box of Eggs' challenge, and this is what I've made.

I started by making a couple of gelli plate backgrounds with Frescos and some Ellen Vargo stamps. I did photograph this but it's just a blury mess.

Then I cut the yellow one into strips and stamped with one of my favourite Lynne Perrella stamp sets.

I wove them into the blue sheet that I'd randomly stamped with some text from another LP set.

To finish it off I added some stitching in places, some more Lynne Perrella stamps, and some Seth die cuts.
I really enjoyed making this as I like a bit of paper weaving every now and again.
Have a fun week, and thanks very much for looking x

I'm Adorable...

Good afternoon and happy Monday. After a very lovely Summer, we're definitely into Autumn now, and with this in mind I've made a tag for this month's Rubber Dance colour/theme challenge.

I started by making a gelli print with DecoArt Premium acrylics in the challenge colours of red, orange, and violet. I hadn't cut into the I Love Leaves plate, so I stamped it directly onto the painted gelli plate to remove some of the paint. I LOVE this print!.
Next I brayered another sheet of A4 with the same colours, and stamped the full sheet again. I embossed 1half in black, and the other in white.

I cut a huge tag out of the gelli print background, and added some further stamping, with Round In Circles, Grungy Swirls, and Vintage Script.

I'm so happy with it at this stage it seemed a shame to cover it up, but you can't keep a good cat down so...
I stamped Curious Cat onto an old scrap of card as the colours seemed just right for my project.
So after a little bit of cutting out, there we are. The sentiment is from Friends Fur-ever, and I thought it was just right.
I'm also entering my very curious cat into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Tag It, and the Craft Stamper TIMI anything goes for October challenge.
Have a very happy day, and thanks so much for looking xx

Queen Of The Garden

Good morning and happy Friday. This is the second piece that I've made for the Country View Crafts 'Plantastic' challenge, and this time I've gone all Autumnal and made a card.

I started with a piece of black card and dry embossed it with a Sheena stencil. Then I went over it with Treasure Gold in silver and copper. The words are from a PaperArtsy Scrapcosy stencil that I've gone through with Grunge Paste.

The leaves are from a Sheena Perfect Partners set. They've been painted and gilded too.
The PaperArtsy Scrapcosy stamp is from ESC04 and it has loads of beautiful images and words.
And I have a finished card, 'cos you can never have too many cards.
I hope that you like it, and that you join in with our challenge. I'm linking this to the Craft Stamper TIMI October challenge.  Have a happy week, and thanks very much for looking x

Simplified

Good afternoon and happy Wednesday. PaperArtsy have a fun new challenge, A Box of Eggs, which is a colour challenge. Here's my tag.

I started with these new colours and brayered them onto a piece of A4 Smoothy card.

Then I cut a tag shape with my Tim Holtz die. I did lots of stencilling with PA stencils, which doesn't show up too well here.

Then I used the lovely flower from Hot Picks 1602, and added a sticker to finish.

You can see the stencilling a little better here.
I'm also entering my tag into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Tag It challenge.
Have a happy week, and thanks very much for looking x

Get Yer Carrots Here!

Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to October. This used to be my favourite month as my birthday is in October, but now it's time to gloss over that bit, I'm quite old enough thank you! There a new challenge over a Country View Crafts chosen by the lovely Rachel, and it's Plantastic! Here's what I've made.

I must admit this was quite a challenge for me, 'cos if I don't have a stamp for it then I can't do it BUT I knew that somewhere...

I started by distressing a piece of corrugated card to within an inch of its life, and painted it blue. Then I pushed some DecoArt Modeling Paste through a PaperArtsy Scrapcosy stencil. At this point it was all neat and tidy, but where's the fun in that, so I rusted it up a little with Quinacridone Gold - much better!

The seed packets have been cut with a Sheena die, and the stamps are from an old TPC set than I've had for years but have never inked up.

And we're all done! I've taken a bit of vegetation from out of the garden, but nobody needs to know about that!
Once I got going this was a really fun challenge, so I hope that you join in too.
Have a very happy October, and thanks for looking x
