Destination ImaginationI

Hi, today we are having a Magpie Day across at Country View Crafts, and we've made scenic postcards.

I must admit these Sheena Douglass stamps have been sitting un-inked and un-loved in my stash for ages, so it was nice to give them an outing.
The background is a mixture of Silks and Pebeo Dyna paints. I must admit I prefer the Dyna paints, they are definitely waterproof when dry, whereas the Silks did bleed a little when I went over them with Aqua Tints and Distress Inks.
My dishy fishy was stamped in DecoArt white gesso, and then overstamped in Dyna's, and then black archival ink. This was then masked with the Pebeo masking fluid so I could go over the background with Aqua Tints, and Distress Ink. The bubbles have been coated in DecoArt Clear Liquid Glass
There was still something missing, so I added some words courtesy of Tim Holtz  Remnant Rubs.
By now my craft room was a total tip - how can I make so much mess making something so small - answers on a postcard boom boom!
Enjoy your weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

  6. This is a really gorgeous underwater scene, Sue - I love the background with the look of sunlight glinting through the water and the soft seaweed drifting in the current. Gorgeous! And no, sorry, no answers... just that if you've been making a lot of mess you've probably been having a lot of fun!

  7. I really like this, Sue! Great color palette and lovely image here. I am a messy crafter. That said, I have to start "clean" then it goes downhill from there! ;-)

  8. Beautiful Sue, love that dishy fishy! Those bubbles are fabulous too and as to the chaos caused by one postcard, I have no insights but if you find out how in the heck that happens please let us all know!
