Good morning and happy Friday. Today I'm sharing my second 'Tea Party' piece for this month's Country View Crafts challenge. Nothing says party quite like the Tim Holtz crazy gang.
This is my Dad's birthday card from the end of last month. As I'm typing this on a very cold Easter Monday I've not given it to him yet, so although it's in the past it's also in the future??? Who says time travel doesn't exist lol. We were all meant to be in Tenerife to celebrate his 80th but the best-laid plans eh! I'll tell you something, he's going to have one heck of an 81st!
So who remembers these? Yes, of course, I had to buy Tim's distress paints, but then I hardly used them. But, as I knew I was colouring my crazies with distress markers I wanted to use the same colours, so out they came!
Soo lots of paint, stencilling, and flicking later we have a background. If you look carefully you may spot the kitchen sink in there!
Then a little bit of mark-making in black acrylic to make the colours pop.
Wow, my photographic skills know no bounds do they... in my defence, I was busy at the time. I stamped the accessories on leftovers from my bit box.
Then I added the Stampotique happy birthday banner - and later on, I just about covered it up again lol.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE my crazies, but I do lose the will to live die cutting them. So for the simple shapes, I just cut them out and saved the dies for the animals.
Everything has been coloured with Distress Markers, clear embossed and either glittered or Glossy Accented.
Here they are all together - they were definitely worth the effort!
I've used quilling strips on my balloons and die cut a little 80. I wanted to put it on the yellow balloon top right, but Neil said it looked better on the blue balloon and I don't often let him have his own way. To be honest it's usually "I don't know/care" so it was good that he had an opinion lol.
So I hope you like it, I hope my Dad likes/liked it, and I hope that next year we all have brilliant birthdays.
I'm entering my card into the Craft Stamper TIMI challenge for May, which, as always, is anything goes.
Thanks very much for looking and take care x
