Something Fishy...

Good morning and happy Friday. In the words of Monty Python, 'And Now For Something Completely Different' It's Clean and Simple Friday over at Rubber Dance and it's my turn!

There we go, I survived C&S - do I get a t'shirt for that? To be honest I really like this, there's just something about fish that makes me happy. If you would like to 'bob' over to the Rubber Dance blog by clicking here, you see how I created my fishy card.

There's also a few days left for you to join in this months challenge, but you'd better get your 'Skate(s)' on. That's it now, I'm all out of fish jokes!

Have a very happy day and thanks for looking xx

A Rose Is A Rose

Good afternoon and welcome to my second post of the day - just like busses eh! There's a new challenge starting over on the Portal today, and it's one of my favourites 'cos it's what I do all the time, it's Stamped Backgrounds. Here's mine.

I started by stamping the beautiful Roses stamp using my stamping platform as I wanted to stamp it in both colours. Then I painted it with Pebeo masking fluid so I could stamp the background over the top.

I love this Large Chickenwire Background, it's so crisp and clean and it fitted perfectly over the rose. Once the ink was dry I just rubbed the masking fluid away.

I coloured the flower with watercolour pencils and added some DecoArt Glamourdust paint for a bit of sparkle.

Then a Tim Holtz sticker just to finish it all off.
So put away your patterned paper, and join us for our stamped background challenge - you know you want to, and there's rubber up for grabs - that sounded better in my head!
Have a lovely afternoon, and thanks very much for looking xx

ATC's For Rubber Dance

Good morning and happy Sunday. We're halfway through April already, which means it's reminder time for the Rubber Dance colour/make altered stuff challenge. This time around I've gone for the colours.

These were very simply made with a gelli plate background, then simple stamping, embossing and colouring. I think that the Antique Botanicals plate looks really nice with these colours.

And this is our inspiration photograph. Isn't it beautiful!

Pimp It Up for Country View Crafts

Good morning and happy Friday 13th!  I'm very happy to be sharing my second project for the Country View Crafts 'Pimp It Up' challenge. You can never have enough storage, so this is what I've been 'pimping'

It's an A4 kraft ring binder that's been kicking around (and falling off) the top of my unit for about a year now!
There aren't many step by step photos I'm afraid 'cos I just started at the beginning, and stopped when it looked like it was done - not like me I know!

I started with a layer of gesso, and then just lots of Paper Artsy stamp sets. I've done all of the stamping in Ranger Archival as I wanted the ink to dry without having to heat set it.
This was great fun to make, I thought it would be a bit overwhelming, but I just stuck to lots of repeat stamping and limited colours, and I'm really happy with it.
Have a very happy week, and thanks very much for looking xx

Fly The Flag

Good morning and happy monday, the start of a new week already, I must be really old the speed this year is going.
The current challenge over at PaperArtsy is Banners and Bunting, which sounds like fun, so this is what I've made.

I've used lots of Fresco paints for the bunting and some Tracy Scott stamps, and on the card itself, alcohol inks and JOFY stamps. I really enjoyed making this, they're my happy colours.
I'm also joining in with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is Happy Birthday, and the Craft Stamper TIMI April challenge.
All of the PaperArtsy goodies can be found at their store, or at Country View Crafts
Thanks very much for looking, and have a fun week xx

Enjoy The Season

Good morning and happy Thursday. Yesterday I had a play with my new Rubber Dance stamps, and I decided to set myself a challenge. Now nothing challenges me more than C&S and doodling, so this is what I made.

Ok, so there's not a huge amount of doodling, but this was waaaaay outside my comfort zone. I've used stamps from the fabulous Textured Spring and Four Seasons plates.
Don't forget, for free worldwide P&P from Rubber Dance just quote SDFreeShip on all orders of 15 Euros and above.

I'm entering my lamb and chick into the Spring Fever challenge at CAS-ual Fridays. Have a very happy day, and thanks for looking xx

Happy Spring

Good afternoon and happy Wednesday. We had a little bit of sunshine today (before the biblical rains came) so in a moment of Springlike madness I made this.
One thing I didn't take on holiday recently was a bookmark - to be fair I probably didn't have room I took so many Winter woolies, so I now have a posh one! I used the wonderful chick from the Rubber Dance Textured Spring set, and the words are from Four Seasons
I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge, which is to use a trio of something.

A Rubber Dance Birthday Card

Good morning and happy Tuesday. I'm over on the Rubber Dance blog today with my first Tutorial Tuesday piece and I've used one of my favourite stamp plates (they're all my favourites really)

There are lots more pictures and details over there, and you can be transported by clicking here.

This is the inspiration photo for our latest challenge, I hadn't realised until I put the two photographs together that I'd used the same colours!
I'm also entering this into the Happy Little Stampers 'watercolour' challenge.
Have a very happy day, and thanks very much for looking xx

An Altered Phone Holder

Good morning and happy Easter.  Can you believe it's April already? I hope no-one's made a fool of you today! It's time for a new challenge at Country View Crafts, and I'm really happy with Evelyn's choice - Pimp it Up (re-use or alter something). This is what I've made.

It's a little phone holder for my mobile. It cost a pound, and it's brilliant 'cos when my phone's in here I know where it is - not that I'm saying my craft room is untidy, or that a lose my phone 50 times a day, perish the thought!

I was in two minds whether to take it apart or not. I knew that it would make it easier to paint, but I didn't want it to be hard to put back together. Luckily these DecoArt Media Acrylics are so fluid that there was still plenty of room to slot it all back together. I just used these 3 colours and lots of Tinting Base.

I've used Visible Image stamps, this horse is an old favourite of mine, and the store has a really good selection here

I've just stamped and embossed with black embossing powder and added a few white pen highlights.
I really enjoyed this challenge and I hope that you join in too. You have all of April to get altering! Have a fun month, and thanks very much for looking xx
