Good morning and happy Monday! It's time for me to share my second 'In the Summer Garden' piece with you for this months Country View Crafts challenge.
I started by finger painting with my favourite Fresco Paints. I used Tracy Scott's second set and also Dolly Mix. This is my new favourite way to paint, and I learned it taking one of Tracy's classes.
Then I stamped all over with Tracy's PaperArtsy's flower stamps. Just need to fussy cut them - shoot me now!
Two episodes of New Tricks later and they are all done! I've layered them up on some foam pads.
I've stamped my most favouritist (this really is a word - I checked!) 'happy birthday' stamp from JOFY14 then arranged my flowers. I need to make a box now to send it in (or I could just hand it over - sticking out of an envelope) - only joking, though that could work...
I really enjoyed making this apart from the cutting out, but 'It's allright, it's OK, doesn't really matter if you're old and gray'.... It's really hard for me to cut out and watch the TV at the same time 'cos I need to wear my reading glasses to see the scissors, or my fingers, so I look like a demented meerkat bobbing up and down looking over my glasses... just a small insight into my exciting world of bad eyesight and even worse telly!
Anyway, I hope you like my card, and that you join in with our fun challenge and the chance to win £20 to spend in the store. Have a wonderful day, and thanks very much for looking
Gorgeous card, hope you can still move your fingers after all that cutting. Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you Valerie - I had lots of coffee to keep me going ;-) xx
DeleteWith a hatred of fussy cutting myself, I'm awed at what you achieved Sue! It does look gorgeous and I love the bright colours of the blooms!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine - some people actually enjoy cutting out, I'm not one of them! xx
DeleteAn amazing design .Fantastic! And great to see the steps! Well worth all the fussy cutting !Happy new week! Hugs, Susi
ReplyDeleteAw thank you Susi, it was worth it in the end - just! ;-) xx
DeleteI have a vision of you now....lol but am mightily impressed with your fussy cutting (even if I will be humming the New Tricks theme song all day) - a fabulous result from your finger painted background, your card is gorgeous!! Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteThe theme song is my gift to you Anne, and I hope the vision is one of loveliness lol xx
DeleteWhat a great way to get a mass of colour... I must try this. Looks fab. I know what you mean about cutting out, though - laborious and gets more and more difficult as you get older :-(
ReplyDeleteLovely work.
Cath x

DeleteThis is gorgeous Sue, that finger painting is very effective and I also love Tracy Scott's stamps and Jofy's happy birthday. I like to cut out whilst watching tele but I have varifocals so 'it's alright'!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lucy, you can't beat a bit of bad tele while you're cutting out lol. I keep meaning to try the varifocals but I like to only wear my glasses when I really need to xx
DeleteWow Sue! I love finger painting and your card is absolutely PERFECT!!!!!!!!! Kisses, my friend.

ReplyDeleteLovely card.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan xx
DeleteWow! That is one big boat load of fussy cutting, Sue, but, in the end, as the viewer, of course, it was all worth it! This piece is magnificent! I can almost feel the layers!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kay, that's easy for you to say lol. Have a lovely weekend xx
DeleteI'm playing catch up with you Sue, rebooted and ready to browse so it will look like I have stalked you on your feed hee hee!!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this card Sue, it's a great way to colour up those stamps by doing it in reverse, it's the only way when you have so many to cut out. So worth it as you've created a magnificent display. Tracey's flower stamps are fabulous and I have to agree about the HB JOFY, those little sets are my go to go to!
Hugs Tracey xx
P.S now on to the next>>>
