Good morning and happy Easter. Can you believe it's April already? I hope no-one's made a fool of you today! It's time for a new challenge at Country View Crafts, and I'm really happy with Evelyn's choice - Pimp it Up (re-use or alter something). This is what I've made.
It's a little phone holder for my mobile. It cost a pound, and it's brilliant 'cos when my phone's in here I know where it is - not that I'm saying my craft room is untidy, or that a lose my phone 50 times a day, perish the thought!
I was in two minds whether to take it apart or not. I knew that it would make it easier to paint, but I didn't want it to be hard to put back together. Luckily these DecoArt Media Acrylics are so fluid that there was still plenty of room to slot it all back together. I just used these 3 colours and lots of Tinting Base.
I've just stamped and embossed with black embossing powder and added a few white pen highlights.
I really enjoyed this challenge and I hope that you join in too. You have all of April to get altering! Have a fun month, and thanks very much for looking xx
What a lovely idea! I lose my phone regularly, so know what you mean. Happy Easter! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a great alteration and design!!! Happy Easter to you and your family!!! Big hugs
ReplyDeleteLol, I have one of these for the very same reason as you Sue and now I want to decorate it like you have, the background colour is fantastic and I love that beautiful horse too! A wonderful transformation. Hope you are enjoying the Easter Weekend. Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteSo you're like me, you DON'T look for your phone 50 times a day... I think I need one of these holders! Great transformation, it looked a bit bland to start with, now it befits a crafter's!
ReplyDeleteHaha, Sue, good idea to make this phone holder, Sue! It´s always good to have a place, where things can be found..... now you only have to use it ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love, how you altered it, it will be a wonderful eyecatcher in your room!
I wish you Happy Easter and I hope, you´ll only have to search some eggs today!

ReplyDeleteOh I love this Sue! I totally relate to not being able to find my phone when I'm crafting - but I like the idea of actually having a place to keep it (where the phone can be found). This is a great idea Sue.

Lol, I'm part of the ones who lose her phone 50 times a day, so such holder would be very useful for me! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd what beautiful one you made... So beautiful. I love the horses, and this image is fabulous, especially simply painted and highlited like you did.
Hugs (and enjoy the snow for having a good reason to craft only haha!) xx
Love the phone holder and now you have revamped it you could sell it for lots more I'm sure. Such clever decoration ideas
