Happy New Year

Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to 2018! So, we've survived Christmas, hopefully only put a couple (I wish) of pounds on, and now it's a brand new year. Now it's back on the diet, back to the gym (groan) and time to make the ridiculous superwoman/domestic godess' type resolutions that last about 30 minutes before I'm back to eye rolling with attitude!
On a more positive note, it's also time for a new challenge at Country View Crafts, and to break us in gently this month, it's Anything Goes. Here's my piece

I've had the Dylusions Creative Dyary for a little while now, and I've been torn between wanting to use it, and wanting to keep it 'safe' lol. I'm not a journaller, and the thought of 'spoiling' it terrifies me.

It's so beautiful just as it is!

I wanted to try and blend the two pages together so I sponged Dylusions paints across them both.

Then I added some stencilling, and finally stamped the birds and sentiment. A selection can be found here.

I've used the sentiments and dates from the Dylusion sticker book, there's a full range of accesories here. I've even added my 'things to do' for the 1st of January. The next thing to go on will be my weight Eeeeeeeeek!!! I have so much weight to lose, but I made a start at the end of 2017, and 2018 is going to be my year!

So please join in with our challenge, what could be easier than Anything Goes, and don't forget there's a £20 certificate to spend in the shop.
Have a wonderful 2018, and thanks very much for looking xx

  1. Love the beautiful dyary, have fun playing in it, you are off to a good start. Take it easy with the resolutions, they don't last any way. Thanks again for my lovely pressies, and have a wonderful 2018. Hugs, Valerie

  2. Happy New Year Sue, well done on breaking in that Dyary. I start off with so much enthusiasm but fail miserably 3 or 4 pages in. It's a great way to work off some of that creative tension we suppress over the festive period. Love your foot note btw!!
Don't beat yourself up over those NYR's It's much better to start them when all the chocolate & leftovers have gone hee hee!! Look forward to seeing lots more lovely creativity during the year ahead..
    Big Hugs Tracey xx

  12. Sue, Happy New Year to you! I know you have within you the power to rock your weight goal. I am on the same path! You did a wonderful job with paint choices that seem to engender movement in action. I took a class A few years back from Dyan Reaveley. We were all given her small Journal. The first thing she did was have us write our name in the journal. The second thing we had to do was pass our journal to the person on the left, on the right, and across from each of us. Each of those three people were to make marks on the cover with inks, paints, crayons, markers, you get the idea. I was horrified! I guess sometimes it's easier to have someone else take that first step!
