It's A Game of Two Halves...

Good morning and happy (and sunny) Tuesday. I wanted to join in with the Indigo Blu All Things Bright and Beautiful challenge, so I made a plaque.

I do quite like this, but it's not how it was supposed to be...
I started with some crackle paint through a stencil.
Then painted with Indigo Blu paints, and yes my memory is so bad that if I don't photograph what I used I can never remember. I think my brain is just so stuffed with pop trivia from the 70's that other (less important) things dribble out lol.
I added some stencilling
and some more stencilling..

Then I dropped my nice juicy jet black Versafine straight on top of it! I didn't photograph this bit, I just whimpered in the corner for a little while.

So on to plan B - I never actually have a plan B. I painted over the black bits - sounds a bit like my baking 'I cut off the black bits'... and added more stencilling to balance it up again.

and here we are, not what I had in mind, but not in the bin either.

My crackle is still crackling after about 20 coats of paint, so I'm also entering this into the That's Crafty crackle challenge.

I hope you have a lucky day, and thanks very much for looking x

Birthday Crazies

Good morning and happy bank holiday, and... it's not raining! Here's a card I made over the weekend.

I've know for months that his birthday was coming up, but of course left it till the day before to start the card. It was all glued together on the day. It doesn't bode well for Christmas does it! Lots of cutting and sticking on Christmas Eve...

I made the background with lots of TH stamps and Distress Inks. I must admit this is my favourite part :-)
This bit took me 15 minutes, the rest of it took about 4 hours!

Much stamping, cutting and colouring later and we have the crazies! As a non-cute type of gal I love these guys. You can have a 'man' card without a golfer or a pint of pint of beer on it!

I'm entering this into the SSS Wednesday challenge, where it's still Hip To Be Square.

Enjoy your bank holiday everyone, and thanks very much for looking xx

Dingle Dangle

Hi and happy weekend. The latest challenge at PaperArtsy is beads, charms, and dangles, so here are my dangles!

I seem to have got in touch with my girly side here looking at the colours!
I started by brayering the chunky board.
Then knocking back with a bit of white, and adding some random text stamping.
I've used stamps by Sara Naumann and Lynne Perrella on painted tissue paper.
And the same again for my shrink plastic danglies.

I really like this colour combination, who knows, I may go all girlie more often.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks very much for looking xx

Hip 2 Be Square

Lost Coast Designs have a new fun challenge where it's all about the squares. Here's mine

This was a box full of little wooden shapes, so I started by giving it a bit of colour.

I used a border stamp around the outside.

Then did a bit of shabby stamping with the hat stamps on the top and around the insides.

Time to choose and stamp some of my favourites, then Off With Their Heads!
And there it is, a nice shabby box for smug kitty and co.
It doesn't show in the photograph, but it was pounding with rain when I took this. In fact it still is!

I'm also entering this into the SSS Wednesday challenge which is also Hip To Be Square, so how good is that!

I hope you have a fun weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Live Life Now

Hi and happy Wednesday. Today in between watching the re-runs of Team GB's cycling, I've been finishing my Visible Image wooden block.

The sides are all done. I've used Dina Wakeley paints again and Portfolio pastels with TH stencils.

This is the side that I did last week.
The stamps are from the Butterfly Inkognito.

I love this sentiment! The edge was stamped with the freebie VI stamp from a recent Craft Stamper.

I'm entering this into the SSS Monday challenge Summer Fun, and also the SSS Wednesday Challenge Make For The Border.
No more cycling or horse dancing to watch now, but never mind eh. Have a lovely week and thanks very much for looking x

Little Boxes...

Hi and happy Monday. Today I've been making patterns for the latest PaperArtsy challenge.

I started by brayering a background with lots of pale bits for the stamping.

Then started to build the pattern, with an Ellen Vargo stamp.
Pattern all done.

Now lots of stamping

Then colouring with Fresco's - lot's of tongue sticking out here.
This was a fun challenge, I really enjoyed it.  Right back to the Olympics, I think there's some horse dancing on!  Have a great week, and thanks very much for looking x

Where Dreams Take You

Hi and happy Sunday. Today I've been having a play with Dina Wakley paints and Visible Image stamps. This is what I've made.

All the paints are Dina Wakleys, the stencils are by Tim Holtz, and there's lots of Portfolio pastels too. This is still a work in progress as it's on a thick piece of wood, so there's the reverse and the sides still to do.
I really do like these stamps, they're a really good size - the eye wouldn't fit on a tag hence the wood, and they stamp very crisply.

I'm entering this into the Artistic Stamper's anything goes challenge.
Thanks very much for looking, and enjoy your Sunday x

Into The Woods

Good afternoon and welcome to Super Saturday. As you see the Olympics rule in our house, so no one notices when I'm not there :-)

I made this for the Tando facebook challenge.

These are the colour for the challenge. Very pretty, but not perhaps my go to colours. But I really did enjoy working with them.
I put the Distress Inks down first, then did the white circles through a home-made stencil with white embossing ink. There is a name for this technique, but for the life of me I can't think of it.

The stamps used are both by Stampendous, they are Chilling, and the text on the frame is from Raven Background.

I really enjoyed this, and for once it came together pretty much as I had it in my head, so that's a result!

I'm also entering this into the Dream In Darkness and Craft Stamper TIMI challenge. I hope that a home made stencil counts :-)
Have a fab weekend, sneak off and play, no one will notice xx

Bee Crafty Book

Good morning and happy Friday. The sun is shining again, so maybe Summer isn't quite done with us yet. A while ago I bought some fabulous 'Inspired by Banksy' stamps from Bee Crafty, so I though it was time that they saw some ink.

All of the pages have been made in the same way with Brusho's and stencilling on linen card. This is the front cover.

Page 2.

Page 3.

And the back cover.

This is how it looks opened up.

Once I'd done the measuring and cutting it was great fun to make. I'm entering this into the That's Crafty Zesty Zing challenge, and Craft Stamper's stencils and masks.

Have a very happy weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Day and Night

Hellooo and Happy Wednesday. Sport on the TV - check there's a guy riding a bike - on his own- and a man talking about a guy riding a bike - and zzzzzzz....
Anyway I've been having a play with my Rubber Dance stamps. Their latest challenge is a colour splash, with black and white and one other colour.

I've chosen red as my third colour, and the stamps are from the Celestial Images plate. The atc shrine is from Things To Alter.

This is the side view.

And this is the back. I figured that as it was a different side, I could have a different colour, so I chosen silver for my stars.
This was a fun (and very gluey) challenge, certainly more fun that hearing about the cyclists rear wheel problems....

Have a fun day, and thanks very much for looking xx

Princess Of Everything

Good morning, and happy Tuesday. I've been having a play with my Brusho's for the Lost Coast Designs watercolour background challenge.

I've used Princess of Everything - bless her I've had her for years, she must be Queen by now.
I found the quote online - love it!

I'm also entering this into the That's Crafty challenge, Zesty Zing.
Have a great day, and thanks very much for looking xx

Mad As A Hatter

Good afternoon and happy Sunday. Have you seen enough of the Olympics yet?  I love it, Neil watches it dawn till dusk (or till he falls asleep clutching the remote) so after my general Dobby the House Elf/Nurse Ratchet duties are finished I slope away to my craft room, and nobody notices :-)
That being said I've got about 40 minutes left of a two week challenge to blog this so I better get on with it lol.
I made this for the Paper Artsy Colour Mixing challenge.

It's no secret that I love my bright colours, so I went with mixing the 3 primary colours. I chose opaque and translucent yellows and blues, and a translucent red. Just applied with some foam, with a bit of stencilling and random text stamping.

I stamped the text in black Versamark, and  white paint fresco paint.

I chose 3 sets of clown stamps - I don't want to know how long I've had these! They've all been stamped onto tissue paper and the faces have been painted white on the reverse.

I didn't know If I could colour my ribbon with fresco, but now I do, and yes you can!
I'm also entering this into the Thats Crafty Zesty Zing challenge - I actually used Zesty Zing fresco, so that's good :-), and the Craft Stamper challenge Stencils and Masks.

Right I need to press the send button now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and thanks very much for looking xx
